Beretta Tomcat Barrel Spring Replacement

Any one know how to replace the barrel spring on the .32 cal. Berreta Tomcat.
Mine broke and fell out when I opened the barrel. I have a new spring but can't tell which way it sits in the receiver. I called Berretta, they said they would get back with me.

Tomcat Bbl spring

Here's what I'd do..Remove the mag, push the bbl release forward tipping up the bbl. Cock the hammer, pull the slide back a little and lift the front of the slide off the frame. Move the slide forward and off the frame. Drift out the bbl pin-it's tight because of the alloy frame. Lift off the bbl and drop the new spring in the recess in the frame. Reassemble. Piece of cake.
