Bersa 380

Great gun. I like mine a lot. Good fit grip, and goes bang when it should. However, it is kind of bag for a .380, though that is part of why it shoots more nicely than, say, a Kel-Tec P3AT and doesn't try to shoot its way out of your hand.
I carry mine pretty regularly. Keep in mind that the ammo is getting pretty hard to come by these days..

Bersa .380 reliability

I have had my Thunder .380 for over a year and have put about 2000 rounds through it without any malfunctions while I was using it. My girlfriend has put about 300 rounds through it and she will have 1 or 2 malfunctions, mainly failure to extract. I think this is due to her inexperience but other then that it has been a very solid gun. I purchased mine used for 190$ and I don't regret it one bit. Good luck on the search.

ALL ammo is getting hard to come by. The Wal-Mart I go to every week only had .25 and .44 for pistol ammo. The gun store is out of anything bulk and has a sparse selection of self defense ammo. It seems that only odd ball calibers and shotgun shells are the only abundant things I have seen.

25 feet.... draw from concealment, disengage safety, and fire one shot as fast as possible. o boy was that an expensive function test, lol. :D

i wear it as my 'polite' carry... anytime i'm wearing a suit or dressed up with closer fitting clothes and can't have a concealment garment.

Firestorm .380 nightmare

Just recently purchased a .380 Firestorm. Loved everything about the gun, got a great deal on a new one. I have had nothing but trouble with this gun. First time on range, had feeding problems, 3-4 feed jams almost every magazine. Tried 4 brands of FMJ and 3 brands of HP, all the same. Took it to repair center and came back supposedly fixed...not the case. When I contacted the importer, I recieved nothing but horrible customer service, 2 sided stories and miss information. I'm going to pick it up next week after 3 different repair centers have had their hands on it and Bersa will still not send me a new gun. This is the only experience with Bersa I've had, but so far it's been a horrible one. May not be the guns fault, but the company is certainly not doing anything to rectify the situation. If it isn't repaired and I can't make any head way with Bersa, I'm looking at dropping the Bersa for a revolver, even though I love everything about the gun.

Bersa .380 thunder duotone here. I am not crazy about the .380 ACP in general, and I dont shoot mine much because .380 cost as much as 9mm or .38, but i do like the gun. I find it to be reliable & accurate as one would expect from a small gun

Don't let the low price fool you. The Bersa is one of the best .380s out there. Highly reliable and accurate.

It's not just very good for the price. It's very good against competitors more than double the price.

I like my Bersa .380 Thunder a lot. Its accurate and I use it as my primary concealed piece. However, I can't shoot the thing much because of the terrible .380 drought thats plaguing the country. If I had to do it all over again I would get a Makarov or some other kind of East-bolc handgun in 9mmMAK, at least there is still plenty of this caliber on the web.

i have one also love it some say u will need a bigger caliber whatever the 380 will be fine just hit what you are shooting at

I've got one (my wife's actually) and it is accurate and reliable and very fun to shoot. We have a Bersa 9mm on order. :)

Just got my Bersa back from the smithy, and seems to be fixed up. I tested 5 mags, firing in rapid succesion and no jams or feed problems. I'd like to test it more, but i don't have the ammo. I shed a single tear with just those 5 mags. Crossing my fingers everythings a ok, I really do enjoy this gun.

I got one for my daughter on her 21st birthday about 5 years ago because she liked my Walther ppks. She was a better shot out of the box with hers than I was with my Walther. Of course she hadn't developed bad habits either. My S&W stainless Walther had mis-feeds with some ammo that she didn't with her Bersa. It has been a very nice pistol and more reliable than most. Although I wouldn't use a .380 for much more than back-up unless location and/or dress prohibit anything larger. NAA, Keltec and Ruger make nice .380's and others certainly maker smaller carry pieces. PEACE.

My CHL instructor uses a 380 for one of his carry guns and I bought the 380 Thunder DLX on his advice. Haven't shot it yet but from fit, feel and finish this appears to be a very high quality firearm, better than some costing a lot more.
Ammo was a problem finding but did manage to snag 3 boxes of Buffalo Bore JHP and this ammo is listed as having 297ftlb of energy which is equal to a 38 spcl.
I was told yesterday by someone close tothe ammo business that the major mfgs are about 250 million rounds behind on production for all calibers combined
and that 9mm and 380 being made with the same production line that they would continue with the 9mm production until inventory is caught up before switching the dies over to make the .380.
Meanwhile, look for prices to continue going up as the demand continues with the panic buying going on right now.

A+++ WOULD BUY AGAIN!

I own a Bersa Thunder 380 and a Bersa Thunder 9 Ultra Compact. My girlfriend owns a Firestorm 380 (the same gun as the Bersa, but rebadged by the importer).

All three make us happy. My Bersa Thunder 380 was my primary carry weapon until I got my S&W 637. The Bersa never failed me, and I ended up giving it to my dad as a home and personal defense weapon. My reason for switching to the S&W for daily carry was purely for comfort and ease of concealment. The Bersa wasn't hard to carry in most situations, but I am a runner, so I wanted something that I could carry while running. I can actually clip the S&W on with an IWB holster in a pair of drawstring athletic shorts, and it won't pull my pants down while jogging.
