Just two example I know folks carry:
Old Ruger Standard MKI, and MKII. Loaded with Win X22LR and CCI Mini mags.
Now one is missing lower weak arm, and a foot on weak side, and though physically limited, will hit a ping pong ball all day long. The other one, is missing the complete weak arm, just below shoulder and only has one eye. He too will hit a ping pong ball all day long.
Snick safey off, and trigger is sweet, crisp single action. Oh, and do not think these two vets cannot reload these things either. Yes they can!
Standard Rugers are slim, and thin, these conceal real well.
Now before anyone dismisses these guns and being .22 semis, do me a favor.
Tie your weak lower leg so you cannot use it, Put weak hand in a boxing glove, and your weak arm in a sling. Put a patch over your weak eye.
To replicate arthritis - have someone whack your strong side hand, wrist forearm and upper arm - real good. I mean whack it good!
Now go get your Ultimate Shotgun with the fuzzy dice. Oh, can't handle it you say. Darn it all...
Okay, go get your SuperWhizzBang Semi Gun with WonderLoads of week and shoot it, and I mean shoot it including getting fast accurate hits, and mag changes.
Get back to me and look me in the eyeball and tell me a Standard Ruger of MKI or MKII is not a viable CCW or home defense gun.
I dare you!
