I've been looking for a long time now and still can not decide on the right gun. I have looked at the P95, Sigs, HK compact, Cz P01 and the FN FNP 9.
I really want a gun with a decock. So the XD is out. the P95 is alittle big to carry it seems. I don't know much about the FN, but i do really like it. Also the CZ P01, but i have heard problems with the springs causing FTF and eject. I want something light so i will carry it. Please give me so feedback, and i know it depends on which one fits my hand the best. besides that.
Thanks guys

The HK P2000 series...

They are truly ambidextrous as well. The DeCock on the Variant 3 is in an unusual place but it is supposed to me very comfy. I am a lefty and like the my HK P2000sk with the LEM trigger.

Here is a picture:

Everyone on this board, except for the 1911 freaks...:D ...will have a different idea of what's best. That's because it's a subjective thing. Different shooters prefer different things and everyone has different concealment requirements. While some wear business suits, I wear jeans and T shirt. While some live where the temps never go over 85 degrees, the temps where I live often approach 100 degrees in summer and the humidities match.

This is my Kel Tec P11 in a Rosen IWB. I happen to think it's CCW nirvana. There are plenty of little 9mm compacts on the market if the Kel Tec leaves you flat. The glock G26, the Taurus Mellinium 101, the Rohrbaugh if you're rich, etc. I really like the compact 9s. You can even have one in .40 in a similar size if you want (G27). I like the compact, light, relatively powerful +P loadings in 9, and accurate little guns a lot. All of 'em are DAO guns and I like that. I prefer DAO for concealed carry, though I do like the decock guns as well. I had a P95 and it bulged a bit in summer T shirts, but was fairly easy to carry IWB otherwise. I can carry my P85 or P90 (.45ACP) about as easily, though. I think a gun needs to be a lot more compact than that. The compacts will even fit a large pocket and the lighter ones are excellent in an ankle rig, more concealment options than just IWB.

If you take into account reliability, accuracy and concealabilty the Sig 239 is the best I have come across.

I agree with MCGunner...

It's a personal choice, what fits me best may very well not fit you at all. I carry a P11 in a smartcarry rig (and a P3AT in a pocket holster), because it works well for me. My build, my daily activities, the level of concealment that I need, and the amount of weight I'm willing to lug around all day.

It takes time and experimentation to find what you're most comfortable with.

I'd decided on a Taurus PT745, myself.

I really have no idea how people can CCW what I consider full-sized autos... Where the heck do you PUT it?

Glock 23

While definitely not a sub compact, it is small enough to not be noticed till needed...Carries well in all weather. Sometimes I ALMOST forget I'm wearing it:eek:

If you like the PO1, (and they are reliable as all get out.) then you will love the PCR, which is the same pistol without the light rail, which may make it more concealable for you. I have no difficulty concealing a PO1, or the PCR, here in AZ.
Find what fits, works well, and shoots straight. Then have fun!

Oh man...that's an EASY question. Why, I think the best CCW is:

Sig 229 .40
CZ P01
CZ PCR
Sig 239 .40
Glock 19
Glock 26
Taurus 650
Taurus 651
Glock 30
Glock 36
Sig 228 (but the G19 is better)
FN Hi-Power with SFS
and whatever gun tickles my fancy yet....heck, it's been 5 years and I'm still lookin'.

Last month I acquired an HK P2000 9mm with the LEM trigger option. I've tried various Glocks, SIG's, etc looking for a smaller 9mm weapon for summer carry. After 1200rnds now I believe I've finally found it. This thing fits my hand extremely well, doesn't rust, carries 13+1rnds and hides really well with a good holster. Quality is top notch and it has functioned perfectly with everything I've put through it. Can't really ask for more!

Taurus PT 111 SSP Millennium Pro. And Winchester 147Gr. SilverTip Hollow Points.

two knifes: a Gerber Bolt, and a CRKT M16-13 folder.

and a 1W Garrity LED.

spare mag.

thats it..

Ill edit that pic down..srry..

anyway, 3000rds thru it, with no malfunctions at all.. acurate, very concealable, light, thin, 10-12 rd mags of 9MM, and reliable.

Depends how concealed you want to go. Here are my two choices--Smith & Wesson 340PD (.357 and 38 spl) and Springfield Armory Champion (.45 cal). I generally carry the S&W because it is so dang small and light!

TX1911........yeah, but what he REALLY wanted was a Hi-Power. Otherwise why do you think he went to all the trouble?:D

Perhaps someone can explain to me the need to carry a desert eagle in a 50AE or some eq large hairy pistol. If you arent a law man the gun and the fact that its concealed is the weapon. Personally I feel no one really has any business carrying anything smaller than a .380 but have a friend who is deadly accurate with a ppk in .32 auto. The real deal is be awesome with whatever you carry. Of the some 50 pistols I have my choice regularly is a .380 converted bulg mak. The recoil is so manageable that shooting all day is nothing and the accuracy is just thrilling. The only down side at all is that it only holds 8 in the mag(sorta like a 1911?) but its always been my opinion that the only one that really counts is the first. The other 7 are just insurance.:scrutiny: The reason I mentioned the lawman is someone is bound to mention blah blah stopping power and crackheads or the like and unless you deal with these sort all the time most humans would roll up in a ball and cry if you shot them in the foot with a .22 now deer on the other hand have some real constitution.
