Was at my local Hobby store a couple of yrs back in da great U.P. of michigan.....
Was inquiring what they had on consignment....The owner grabbed a dogfood bag that had a muzzle brake sticking out of it, said here..the owner can not get it back together and said it was broke, so it's free right up your alley! Look into the bag, and see trigger group, bolt assembly couple of pins rolling around in the bag and a synthetic stock... Take the bag out to the truck where the wife was waiting on me, and asked what it was, I merely stated some kind of rifle.....
When I got home, I noticed it was an HK clone, till I started looking closer....Century CETME... Heard bad stories about them with cycling so figured that is why it was apart. Took me about 5 min to get it together....the previous owner did not realize you need to cock the bolt to loosen the rollers to reassemble where they had tried to beat the bolt back in because of some mushrooming on the back of the bolt carrier :banghead:
Well alittle work with a jewelers file and wet stoning cleaned it all up pretty. Went back to the gun shop and asked if the owner had magazines to go with it. Yupper, 2 Cetme mags.... Then she showed me a Long Long Gun, an 8mm Egyptian Hakim....she said make an offer. I said if the owner was willing to take $75 and had a mag, I would take it off of her hands. Well I getz home a few hrs latter get a phone call and the owner would take $75 for the Hakim and had the original Magazine....
Well for the way I see it, I got 2 $500 rifles for $75 dollars.....
Never happen to me again......Should have bought a lottery ticket that day as well....
