i know "best" is relative but i'm wondering what you guys come up with

i made this thread because my next pistol needs to be polymer, to save weight, and i dont like striker fired guns

i heard the FNP/FNX pistols had MIM sears...

My CZ phantom is pretty nice. But really the best way to find out the answer to your question is to go to a range and rent a few handguns and see what you like the most.

FNP 45...I love mine! Wait, just saw that you want a lighter gun. The FNP is, unfortunately the opposite of light, though that does help tremendously with the recoil.

I'd say either the FNP (I'm partial to the -9M personally) or the CZ P-07 Duty are probably about the tops.

The Sig Pros are great too.

I'd put the FNP just a hair over the CZ polymer frames, just from a standpoint of how they felt to me. I've fired both, but not extensively (maybe a couple mags each; I don't own an example of either).

Never fired an FNX, but I hear it's a slight improvement over the FNP.

I have no first-hand information to give any opinion about how durable they are over time compared to one another.

Ya know, folks, I see this a lot.

"MIM sucks"

Food for thought:

MIM parts quality (like any part) depends on the care and material quality that goes into it.

If you use cheap materials and a cheap process, you're gonna get crap parts, no matter how they're made.

I like the FNP too.

I wouldnt worry too much about the spawn of satan rising up to the human world and putting an MIM sear into it.

FNP/FNX pistols are great and come in all the calibers you are looking for.

Sig SP2022 is a good gun in 9mm/.357 Sig/40 S&W but no 45 ACP

To the MIM issue it is like any other manufacturing process. There is good MIM and bad MIM. I have not heard of any reports of the MIM sear in a FNP or FNX pistol failing. That does not mean it won't in the future but....

+1 to rellascout's post

I'd recommend the FNP as well due to the fact that its well made and has a great trigger.

Other than that, the Sig SP2022 is nice, though i'm not a fan of the grip. It feels a bit large and bulky, but thats just me.

I'll say FNX. I think the SA trigger is very nice. Not much recoil for as light as it is.
