My wife, stepson and I will be heading to Lost Wages for a four day holiday at the end of March. I looked up LV gunshops and noticed there are several class III shops in the area with rentals. My stepson has never shot anything full auto and since the trip is his thirtieth birthday present, I thought I'd throw in a little rockn'roll fun. Anybody have an opinion as to the best place - i.e. biggest selection or cheapest rates?

Thanks in advance,

Keith

Want some real fun??????
3rd Sat of every month is a DBS; just bring ammo.....
Details and info usually at Nevada Home Board of www.ar15.com
(Pretty normal, friendly group; most accomodating:cool: )

"The gunstore" on Tropicana.

$10 cab ride from the strip. The full auto rental is basically the cost of PMC ammo. ( and they load the 30 round mags):D

Second The Gun Store - way cheaper than American Shooter's Supply. If I remember right a full-auto was $50 at Am.SS and $40 at TGS. It's 29 blocks from the Strip but worth it. One word of warning - it gets packed with tourists on the weekends. I took my CCW class there - good place.

I have issues with American Shooters Supply.

The Gun Store has some good guys working in there.

When I went to The gunstore last year Full auto rental was $30 and that included 2mags, any further shooting is cost of ammo $11 a box for 45acp and $9 a box for 9mm

Never really had to urge to shoot full-auto, but like everybody else I would choose The Gunstore. They have the classics, Thompson, MP40, sten, and grease gun.

I just went to the gunstore last month, price went up:

9mm (mp5), $40 / 50rds

.45acp (Thompson) $40/50rds

.223 (1 that looks like A1 and 1 silenced version, pointless because you shoot at their range with other full auto and the effectiveness of the silencer is lost), $25/25rds.

No discount for multiple purchase, 1 $5 off coupon in fliers per person. all are full auto only, no burst control, learn to do burst quick or the mag is empty.

counter guy seemed nice, the guy that went in with us was rude, wouldn't let you touch any part of the gun other than stock, forearm and trigger, wont' let you remove magazine (this is after I did it on the mp5 while he watched, showing I know what i was doing), when asked to move the target in closer to get a look, said "why, you were hitting all over the place". no ?????, genius, if I shoot all-in-1-hole first time on full auto, I'd be f-ing amazing!

oh, yeah, no instruction other than "pull on the trigger".

I think I'll try another shop next time I'm there.

I have rented SMGs in the various places around Las Vegas over the years. I also was somewhat disappointed in the whole process. Mainly because everything you do is dictated by the guy from the store. It isn't like you are going out plinking in the desert. They basically take you in there and want you to be done ASAP.
I suppose it is worth it, but I can't see myself doing it again.

That's too bad that happened there. For the most part they're good guys, even if they carry 2 full-size Glocks and 4 spare mags. :) If you go to American Shooter's Supply you'll see what attitude is really about - I really can't stand that place.

I'm another who lives here and hasn't shot any full-auto weapons. I don't know - it's not like I don't want to but 10 seconds for $40 doesn't appeal to me either. There's a group that shoots in the desert evey month and I'm going to see about joining them and bringing some ammo - and learn to rock 'n roll! :D
