The reading I've done suggests that Browning/modified Browning designs with camming/tilting barrels are not usually recommended for use with suppressors. On top of that, polymer frames are supposedly more stressed with the extra weight of a can hanging off the end, and thus it appears it might be wise to pick another handgun other than a Glock 17 to suppress.
- Berettas are the obvious choice, but I'm not much of a fan.
- CZ (CZ 75?) also are spoken well of, except that barrels are hard to find (Bar-Sto makes them, at least, one run per year).
- Hi-Powers are a Browning design (which is usually a good thing, I know)
- Sig... I hear good things about Sigs, but doesn't the barrel cam during the cycle?
- HK is another obvious choice, but I'm not fanatical about the bore height - they also seem to be available with just polymer frames, even though they look to be designed for use with a can.
Thus far, the CZ looks to be the best choice, followed by an HK. That said, which 9mm pistol is the most reliable platform for use with a suppressor, in your opinion?
