I have an early WASR with very roughly milled mag well. It is much lighter than a milled reciever and is a dream to carry due to the weight. It shoots just as accurately as my brother's american made milled reciever(can't remember which brand) and my buddy's Krebs. With Golden Bear(barnaul) HPs it will shoot 5 shots under 2 inches at 100 yards all day long. Tulammo FMJ's also shoot that well. If I use any brand of Wolf ammo I can expect 4-8 inch groups. Sure, the milled reciever AK's are nice but for the price I could almost have a decked out AR. The cheap CIA WASR's are much better than what people would have you believe. You just have to use the correct ammo. I haven't had a malfunction in the 10 years that I have owned the weapon(5,000 rounds). So, cheap, light and accurate. That, to me, is the best. If you want heavy, expensive and accurate, choose one of the other brands.
Note: I always use a KVAR KV-04 side mount as it is rock solid. If you use a junk cheapo mount you most likely will not ever get good accuracy with any AK variant. I think junk ammo and junk optic mounts give most AK's the bad accuracy rap.
