Well, best and favorite aren't really the same thing, but......i voted Hornady, i love the ammo and it is really good. For cheap (more used) ammo, federal.
Depends on what you mean by best, for me it's accuracy. Federal and Black Hills match ammo is hard to beat. In my hungting loads Hornady with SST bullets are best in my 7x57, .308, and multiple 30-06's.
Federal ranges from inexpensive American Eagle, Lake City, low end & premium Hunting as well as the infamous Gold Medal Match ammo...I'd say they are king of the hill.
I voted for federal for the same reasons as others. They offer cheap ammo, hunting ammo, match ammo, and have a variety of calibers and it is all pretty good.
Anything from Federal, Hornady, or Black Hills. Depending on the application one of the three will be on top, but in my experience the best will usually come from one of the three.
I bought my dad a box of Winchester Super X 180 grain .308 power points, they've got good ballistics according to the charts on the winchester site, should be a good round for large game. Wal-Mart has great prices on this stuff, by the way.
I vote Hornady. They produce a very high quality product. The cases they use (in my opinion) are better than Federal. They also offer a wide range of specialty loads like 7.5 Swiss, 7.7 Jap, and the line of TAP ammo.
wait someone actually voted wolf?
i picked hornady, great ammo and they make milsurp calibers that are hard to find otherwise. always thought federal was overrated, only fired there 12ga and .22, people glorify federal bulk packs but i get a lot of ftfs from them
