Best trigger in a DA/SA pistol-especially the SA pull

My seat of the pants view is the SIG/Sauer P220 has the best single action trigger pull, however, I'm not nuts about the 2-stage nature of it. The Walther P38 and its derivatives have a darn nice SA pull without the slack of most DA/SA autos. YMMV

Thanks for the responses, guess ill be looking at CZs and Sigs this weekend. Anyone own a sample of both? Head to head trigger pull commentary?
---------------------------------------------

I have had both SIG and a CZ. The CZ is not bad, but the SIG's are better. The CZ has a longer and heavier DA pull. SIG's get better with use and time: be sure to check out a well-used SIG if you can. Also, there was a design change for P-series SIG triggers some time ago; I like the older ones better though the difference is extremely subtle - and it may be the older ones are broken in better.

I've owned three SIG P220s and the SA is better than my CZ75b SA but I prefer the CZ DA over the P220 DA. The SA on my CZ really sucks. I prefer the DA of my SIG P225 over the other two.

My USP9 DA feels awful when dry firing but I don't notice it when shooting. I actually shoot the USP in DA better than any of my TDA guns. I like the USP SA the best of my TDA guns.

To me, trigger pull/quality is somewhat subjective. My CZ trigger isn't the best I've ever used, but from putting 1000 rounds through it and from dry-firing every day, I know exactly where, when, and how it breaks relative to my finger and grip.

I had a SIG 220 and the SA trigger was good but the DA was below average.

The CZ-40B I had, had a decent DA trigger but the SA was creepy.

S&W tends to be poor.

Ruger is poor also.

I can't say that I have ever really felt a great DA AND SA trigger on any semi-auto pistol. The best I have felt is on my Beretta 92FS. It has a long but very smooth DA trigger with a slighty mushy SA. I much prefer mushy over creepy when it comes to SA triggers.

I agree 100% with that. In addition I find that the reach on the trigger of the CZ's is overly long making what would have been a fine trigger somewhat less than ergonomically well designed.

Get the trigger replaced with the steel trigger. If you send it back to CZ, ask Mike to do a trigger job on the new trigger. You will love it. Out of the box, both my CZ's had good triggers. The PCR is excellent and a bit lighter than the 75B. The 75B has broken in nicely.

The trigger on my CZ75 Compact of years ago was outstanding, both DA and SA. The PO1 is better in SA than I expected, and very good in DA, especailly from the decocked position.
The SiGs I tried at the range I worked at were a 229, 220,226 and 230. The best of them all was the old beater 220, a great heavily used pistol I tried to buy...they wouldn't sell it. The 229 was a good shooter, but the best of the SiG was the 220.
Still vote CZ....
