best way to carry ammo and strip question?

My wife got me a Bond Arms 9mm Rough Neck, a IWB, OWB, and a pocket holster. What is best to use to carry extra ammo?Also will a 357-38 speed strip be ok for the 9mm? I was thinking speed strips to carry but if y'all know of a better way please let me know. thanks

I just tried some 9mm in my Bianchi speed strips and the work. Not as tight as 38spl but I think I would be comfortable carrying 9mm in these strips. I normally carry two speed strips loose in my pocket when carrying my 38spl revolver and have never had rounds come loose.

Man, when I first read the title I thought this one was going to be NSFW.

The speed strips may not hold the rimless cases as tight as the rimmed .38 Spl., but they should fit and stay if not torqued on too much.

here is my bond arms derringer in 9mm that i carried for a walk in the woods wearing gloves. i am away at present but i do believe that the speedstrip is for 357/38 ammo. i use it to carry 38sp ball loads.

i actually prefer to carry 410/45lc outdoors as these bigger rounds are easier to handle with gloved hands and 410 gives me options; though the trigger guard is present for one early photo. this speedstrip is designed for 410/45lc. i have never tried it with 45acp as this round is unpleasant for me to shoot.

I came up with a solution to use bicycle inner tubes, I believe this will work good. First i cut a strip about 4 inches long, I then cut 3 inches off and leave about an inch, then I tuck the long part into the short part, I now have a pocket to hold 4 rounds with a tail piece to grab a hold of. It fits great in the side pocket of my pocket holster.

Had warm day today and carried the Bond in a pocket holster with 4 rounds in my home made carrier. Everything went great and it carried great, didn't even know it was in there as I carryy keys in my left pocket and so it just balanced everything out. I tried to carry my G3c in a Holster store holster iwb with a clip but with my pants just a draw string to tighten it was just too much weight. My pants kept slipping down, so when I wear those pants just my Bond will be with me. But it shoots good and I can keep all shots in a plate size area out to 15 yards, I haven't shot it farther but may try later.

You can use USGI 5.56 strippers with 9mm. They are a tad tight at first, but they loosen up with a little use. Might be a bit bigger than you want, and they are metal, and may be a bit pokey, depending on how you carry them. If you want smaller, you could cut them down too.

I do not use a derringer, but if I did use a 9mm derringer, I believe that I would use a 9mm pistol magazine to carry spare ammo.

I will second carrying 9mm in a magazine. There are small single stack magazines out there if you only want a few rounds of back up - I'm specifically thinking of a Kahr - or have a belt rig with an oversized Glock 30-rounder. That should give you more ammo than you would want in an afternoon with a derringer.

I like to keep my .45colt loads forms SAA and Blackhawk on speed strips in my watch pocket.
FYI I think 30-30 rims fit perfectly in the. 45colt/410 strips

I have an old leather flip-phone belt case that perfectly holds three 38/357 strips
