any firearm that is called a weapon is not good. in a politicol world we have to be careful in what we say. a weapon is usually described as an offensive tool used in crimes. a firearm should only be used for sport or defending yourself or ect... if we start calling them firearms again and not weapons maybe people might not be so afraid. Just so long as you don't call it a F.A.G. (clones of the French 1892 and Russian 1895 revolvers marked and marketed under those initials by Francisco Arizmendi y Goenaga, circa 1897 - 1905).

You can hate the name "Judge", but it was marketing genius on the part of Taurus.

I have the Lew Horton Astra "Terminator" .41 Magnum

If you're standing next to me without ear protection it will definitley terminate your hearing for quite a while.

The "Liberator" was a great name for a pistol made of aluminum foil and the leftover parts from an assembled bicycle.

On the flip side, IMI named their sp-21 the "Barak". Who knew that the "Barak" would cause so much heartache?

Raven

I like the name Raven.

To bad the gun is not of the caliber as the poem written by Edgar Allan Poe.

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore--
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
"'Tis some visiter," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door--
Only this and nothing more."

Not in my world, kanook. I won't hide under the bed just because there are people out there who misuse our beautiful, powerful English language. :)

Beretta's decision to name the successor to the 92/96 line the 90-Two has got to rank near the top of poorly chosen firearm names.

not trying to start a problem, just going with the post theme on bad names and why.

I think "barak" means "lightening" in Hebrew.

Wow, never knew there were so many firearms that were named improperly....keep them coming....

I like Peacemaker, Python, Bearcat, Woodsman, Street sweeper, Gat Chicago typwriter, Rod.

Not sure about the worst.

I agree with kanook, I don't like calling firearms weapons. On the other hand, I do think that they should respected like weapons.

I don't really care for bushmaster's 'dissipator'.

I'd say King Cobra or Anaconda would have to be one of the most bad ass.

so... define a weapon... if a gun isnt a weapon, neither is a knife, bat, grenade, bomb, stick, spear, arrow, sling shot, dart gun, boomerang, ax, hatchet, sword, dagger, or anything else for that matter... if fact, a gun isnt a gun, it is a devise for directing an object ,varying in size, that has been accelerated by the ignition of some sort of accelerant, usually in powder form. A gun is a weapon, the problem here is an incorrect definition of the word weapon-"any instrument or instrumentality used in fighting or hunting; 'he was licensed to carry a weapon.'"

last I checked, guns were used by some for hunting and fighting... whether or not this is your use is irrelevant; however, the fact that it can be used in such a way makes it a weapon... denying this FACT is a step in the wrong direction.

but i absolutely must ask, if you are to respect a gun and treat it like a weapon, what are you treating it like? if not a loaded gun!!!!!?

The Taurus Tracker, what the crap does that mean? Is this for when you miss the first time, its for tracking whatever your were shooting at in the first place?:neener:
