Better powder than Bullseye for 9mm and 45acp.

I use WST for 45. Typically I get 1200-1500 rounds between cleaning before the pistol starts to act up. Not to say it is clean, but so dirty to fail to function.

I love Bullseye, started my reloading with it as a pup (and using a Lee Loader - single round). I went with WST just to fill the case.

BE 86, super for 9mm and getting better for my .45.

Actually, I have great luck with good old Unique in both.

Power Pistol is great fun as well.

And ive only been testing at the 25 yard line but yes my gun seems to like small and faster projectiles. And thats actually one of the reasons I want to re-test the CFE. Its been the only one of the powders so far where the best groups were with the lower charges.
Makes me wonder if the lighter load with CFE-P was subsonic, started sub, so it does not come back through the sound barrier before the target.
Depending on the starting vels you might have some dropping sub by 25 and you might not.
Nothing wrong with that but it might or might not have some effect on accuracy. (this is subject to debate)

I spent near 6 hours at the range on Saturday. I tested WSF, N320 and re-tested the CFE. The WSF was ok but not the best. The N320 was just sort of middle of the road. I was kinda expecting better with it for costing near double to the CFE ($45 compared to $25). My wallet though is happier that it didnt test best. The re-testing of CFE came in best again. Im ready to start bulk loading this stuff at this point. Im getting 0.9 to 1.1" 10 round groups with it @ 25 yards. Again the oddity in that it seemed to like the lower velocity best 5.0g, 115 fmjs and a 1.15 oal; velocity was around 1090 fps.

When I am testing loads, I like to remove myself from the equation as much as possible. I have even considered buying a Ransom Rest myself. I applaud your efforts. However, I'm sitting here wondering what exactly will be the purpose of your production loads. If you will be loading for shooting offhand at targets 10 yards away, then you will never notice the difference in accuracy between loads that resulted in 1.0" or 2.0" @ 25 yards.

I have worked up loads that gave me 2.0" @ 25 yards, bench rested. However, I don't necessarily load for that kind of accuracy as most of what I load (especially for my wife) will end up being shot offhand at 7-10 yards. I load what is economical, burns clean, and is accurate enough.

Honestly it just sort of evolved into its own hobby. It really has already improved my own shooting though. Before i was lucky if i hit the 25 yard target. Now i can shoot it all day and practice on improving unsupported shot groups

Im a combat infantry vet as well as a prior (civilian) correctional officer. The defensive orientation w me is played out. Im happy w just bullseye shooting now

Im a perfectionist :D

I fall into that group. When I worked they did a bunch of testing on every one in the group. We had a lot of personality conflicts going on between several in my group. I smartly stayed away from them unless it was 1 on 1. I ranked the top of perfectionist of all he had every tested. Then he found out what my position was in the group and told the manager not to move me.
