Bidding on the Win/Rem Garand Production

Ok guys here it comes. There were only Two (2) Companies that bid on the M1 Garand Contract. Win. and Rem. The Bids were right on the money between the two. What made Ordnance go with Win OVER Rem ??

The reason that Winchester won the contract over Remington, is because Winchester was willing to accept partial payements, whereas Remington wanted to be paid all up front. (They did though offer that if at the end of the contract and profits were over 10%, they would give a partial refund to the government for the amount over 10%).....needless to say they went with Winchester
