I will start. Others asked me to post once I shot.
Brand new, four weeks old, fired today first time.
Top Savage Axis II XP w/ Bushnell 3-9 and ER Shaw 358 Winchester 24 inch SS barrel (converted from 243).
Bottom TC Venture II in 223 Remington with Athlon Midas HMR 2.5-15 illuminated reticle.
Range was closing today so didn’t get to shoot 223 hand loads. Shot at 100 yards. One 3/4” group with 223 IMI factory 77 grain HPBT Match ammo. I had planned a 10 round hand load group but ran out of time.
The 358 Winchester 10 round group is interesting, shot from bags in one minute. Obviously a bag/rest issue. But still, 6 of the 10 rounds went in one ragged 3/4” hole. I’m going to have fun this year breaking these two guns in.
Also, a family was shooting 22’s, 50 feet at standing shogun shells and golf balls on the ground. The range officer called over the PA to cease fire, and before the RO’s could clear the line, a little girl, maybe 6 years old, ran out excited to stand the shotgun shells back up. The RO screamed at her over the PA to come back, which she did, while crying, scared. A half hour later she was shooting and happy again.
I guarantee two things. She won’t ever forget it, and we’ve got another lifelong girl shooter!
