I could teach my dog to drop a bill in the hopper- let's not get excited unless and until it actually starts moving.

Bushsky has ordered the DOJ to research penetration of projectiles and provide the BATFE with the test results.

Do you have a reference to the legislation or executive order that instructs DOJ to research penetration of projectiles and provide the BATFE with the results?

DOJ is currently doing all kinds of penetration tests - one to resolve the Zylon debacle and another in conjunction with the Marines based on Iraq experience. Neither of these tests have anything to do with gun control or this bill.

The Police are not the BG's

DO NOT equate what a political apointtee Police Chief does/says with what the rank and file street cop thinks. The majority of cops favor Constitutional Rights (all of em) for all civilians, especially the rkba. Whenever I have contact with my state or fed congress critters, i tell them to back off these kind of stupid laws. We street cops have no more influence over Congress than any other citizen. Aside from a few northern anti gun cities, most cops are in favor of an armed citizenry. Lighten up, guys, we are on your side!

THIS THREAD WAS OVER A YEAR OLD. THERE HAS BEEN NO MOVEMENT OF THIS BILL SINCE 2005!

Exactly folks. This bill is pretty much dead.

It hasn't moved in over a year. They've moved on to new ways of stepping on our liberties.
Lets not dig in the thread graveyard folks, it really messes with the continuity of a thread. Just make a new one.

I'm just a bill.
Yes, I'm only a bill.
And I'm sitting here on Capitol Hill.

Stand Your Ground

Stand your ground. It is hard enough to recapture the ground we've lost. Call, write, e-mail, and practice, practice, practice! Don't forget your vote. It is as strategic as your gun.

Woody

This is what the Second Amendment is for. Should this legislation pass, it shall compel forceful preservation and restoration of our rights and freedom, for it would attempt to deprive us of the means to preserve or restore our rights and freedom. B.E.Wood

It's everything or nothing. Don't accept anything less than everything or nothing. And irritate and anger as many people as possible, because if you get enough people irritated at and angered by gun owners you'll get what you want. If it doesn't work, do more to irritate and anger people until everyone is on your side. Never admit that anyone else has rights. Be irrational. Be two.

whew, I almost had a heart attack when I saw this on the main page. I was like, "again?!?!?!?"

Then I looked at the date.

I bought one simply becasue they thought about banning it. Civil disobedience, investment, rights-not-exerted, etc.

Whatever you think about the weapon itself, the stand your ground mentality has to be what holds us together.

The grabbers would like nothing better than to divide us into separate camps (hunters, target shooters, collectors, and the rest of the self-defense-don't-need-a-reason crowd) and whittle away one at at time. In this case, they would love to ban a couple of specific models and call it a victory, hoping we will not unite around a niche or unpopular gun or type of ammunition.

We can't let it come to that. If they wanted to ban 0.25 cal for no reason at all -- we should still all unite.
