What will Blue Dot do for me?:) I am not a BD fan but have some left and would like to use it. It seems to be popular in the 10mm. I have been using PP and Long shot

So will BD be any different/better or still be flaming dirt as I call it.:)

It's pretty hot down here already and I "guess" BD can be spiky in pressure, not sure if that is true or not,

Loading 180 gr FMJ FN. I have data, just curious if others are happy with it.

Lotsa flash, it also likes to be loaded to the upper end(max), lighter loads of BD do not perform well IMO.

Yep Blue Dot works great in 10mm. As mentioned above it does best near the upper pressure loads

I can only speak for Power Pistol. Its louder than my 10mm red dot loads and has plenty of flash.

When i compare its to my red dot 10mm loads you can tell its there by the sound more than anything.

But accuracy is real good and for medium to full power loads its great.

I would go for Longshot in 10mm. I load 180 grain 40 S&W on the upper end with it and it is awesome, its loud, but it burns clean and gives impressive velocity.

I don't load 10mm, but I think Blue Dot is a super powder if you understand it and use it in the right applications. It becomes "flaming dirt" when used in the wrong applications. It likes to be used in applications where there is little to no vacant space in the case after you seat the bullet. My guess is that it will work great in 10mm. I look forward to seeing your results.

I have only used Blue Dot in full house magnum 357 Mag. I just don't like it with all the other available powders out there. Yes, it needs to be at the upper end of the load data.

Have about 1/2 lb left so just want to use it up. plenty of data for it in 10mm.

I recently picked up 3lbs of HS-7, and initial testing with weights from 147 to 180gr showed pretty lackluster results (Add: at 37 degrees).

A lot of powders work in the 10 (I've tried 29), but if I had to pick three It'd be #7, Longshot, & PP.

Blue Dot has too much flash and it tends to be 'peaky' in my experience. I would choose either of the others over it, but my favorite 10mm powder for heavy bullets is AA#9.

You are the first person I've heard say that about HS-7 in the 10mm. Did you usexa magnum primer? The results are much better with a magnum primer.

I did, both CCI 300s, & 350s.

Perhaps my 'lackluster' assessment is jumping the gun a bit, as I noticed my only testing was done a 37deg :)

AA#7 is ok for clean plinking loads. But falls short when looking for velocity out of a longer barrel 10mm. So my answer is it depends on the gun and barrel length. For longer barrels Longshot or AA #9 is preferred.

I'm with Ipsharp88. IMR-800x is the powder for full house 10mm loads. As in 180s at 1,300-1,400 FPS.

I'm Not seeing anyone getting near 1,400 unless your loading them hot or mixing up the weight of the bullet. Heck 1, 300 is a stretch for 180gr bullet and the fast loads are doing 1255. From a 4-5" barrel. Unless the barrel is longer i dont see it?

Used Longshot,bluedot,800, and powerpistol. Hands down powerpistol with 180 Nosler hp bullets out of a 1006. Hands down.
I have a lot of Bluedot left over from the 50ae - at any temp below 65F it made a mess of the desert eagle, ditto on the 10mm - BUT - I suspect a HEAVY bullet loaded max in warm temps might be to the bluedots strong suites.
Cannot get the time to try some of the 8208xbr (6mmPPC) powder in my 10mm, just because the Powerpistol works like I need.

They're warm. 10.8 grs. over CCI 350s for 1,406 FPS avg. from my 1006. They clock 1340 in my 3.5" Witness Compact. That's with 180 gr. Golden Sabers. The 180 gr. Gold Dots run a few FPS slower on average.
