Please re-read that passage.....I was not advocating that....just remarking that it brought to mind that scene in that movie.

That being said.....while I don't wish for anyone to be killed, deliberately or accidentally, I believe that it's a darned shame that the situation on our southern border has deteriorated to the point that our Marines may have their ability to train impacted by the flood of illegals streaming across that training range.

Trapper there's a big difference between shooting jaywalkers and speeders. and bombs falling on a test range that hit people that chose to disregard a signs that said that bombs would fall.

Btw if a couple of rednecks decided to watch "teh purdy lights" and got a

This is why america is going down the toilet. Americans that want to look after illegal aliens and help them out instead of helping its own citizens. The vast majority of Mexicans bring nothing but a burden to this country. Yea sure it will help their life and the life of their family to find some cheap illegal work here, BUT IT IS AT THE EXPENSE OF AMERICAN CITIZENS!

As far as America, going down the toilet ... well, I typically hear this statement from people who've never even been out of this country nor seen what life is like anywhere else. Sure, we've got some big problems -- illegal immigration among them -- and these problems need to be addressed, but we still have far more going for us than those living in any other country on this planet.

Putting forth a reasoned, logical argument is generally more effective than indulging in a emotional and very racist diatribe.

Old Dog, I've only been in the service for 6 1/2 years. 2 of those in Eucom AOR and the rest in the States. I have been to Africa, and have seen some bad though admitedly not the worst living conditions. But I've also been to Europe and seen what eventually happens when you can just move into a country and claim welfare. And it ain't pretty. The only difference is that in Germany anyone expressing any loyalty to Germany is immediately labeled a Nazi. Just because we don't have it as bad as they do is no reason let down your guard. The main problem is that Mexico has a release valve for it's squaller, right into the American SouthWest. The administrators realize that as long as they can get rid of their most downtrodden they can operate bussiness as usual. If immigrants(illegal) can't run there is only one thing to do. Stay and make changes.

Also imyerboogyman has a very valid point. Many of the Bleeding heart liberals are more concerned about "those poor people" that they are willing to sacrifice america to help them. Also the vast majority of the illegal immigrants will cost more in money, crime, and disease then they will ever contribute in cheap labor. This is not rascist, this is true.

When a leech attaches itself to your butt; its only trying to provide for it's family. Same holds true for the mosquito that transmits West Nile virus. When you torch him off your skin, you are providing for your family.

Who's letting his guard down? Not me; I certainly understand the seriousness of the illegal immigration problem, having lived much of my life in Southern California and Arizona. I'm not trying to minimize the problem, either, simply objecting to the extreme attitudes of some of the posters.

My objections are to those who would de-humanize the immigrants themselves, who believe that the act of illegal immigration is somehow tantamount to "invasion" and deserving of being bombed out of existence solely because they wanted to improve their miserable lot in life.

A few questions.

How do they REALLY know no one has been killed?

I mean if there was a direct hit on a trespasser what would be left?


Is there not enough money to set up a better perimeter?

Or how about setting up a lifesize diarama?

Say a crater with a bomb casing, finned of course, sticking straight up surrounded by skeletal remains. (The kind you can by in a medical supply store, not some recent unfortunate person.)

Crater the whole area and leave bones scattered everywhere with warning signs that also have obvious bomb damage.

Some might take the hint.

I'm not for killing illegals unless they have it coming, i.e., taking pot shots at Americans, and that sort of thing.

However, can we allow ILLEGAL aliens to dictate our training time for our military?
If training gets cut short or is otherwise incomplete, does it affect our military?

CNN had an interview of the fella who gave food, water, money and a t-shirt to an illegal yesterday as part of the MMC. They showed the video tape of the incident, and there was nothing even remotely hinting at any mistreatment. Even CNN Lou Dobbs was impressed-probably to the disgust of the ACLU who claims it was misteatment.

Tell you what-I'd take a million more illegals if we could ship the ACLU down to Mexico. Who knows, they might even be able to make an improvement. That is, if they did not end up on devils island

- it is the federal governments duty to protect the borders. The vast majority of these people are just average slobs trying to make more money, but many are criminals, and some can/will be terrorists. Democrats and Republican are equally missing in action. It is disgusting.

- Poor mexican people want jobs. American businesses want cheap labor. Fine, we both want this, but control the border! Give them temporary worker papers, what ever, but keep track of and control of who comes into the country. This is such a no-brainer I can't believe it never gets suggested :banghead:

Allowing them to walk in and instantly qualify for aid (medical, education, etc...) means we have less money to spend as aid for more needy countries. There are plenty of places in the world I'd rather see my aid money spent than Mexico. We have a right to determine where our tax dollars are spent.

- Mexico is an independent country, and a democracy. They need to start solving their own problems. How about starting by not having babies you can't afford to raise? This is true everywhere, but especially so in countries (like Mexico) that are predominently Catholic. Lets hope the next Pope has the integrety to sell the priceless works of art that the church owns and give the money to these poor needy people, instead of just working to ensure they have more kids that they can't afford (the effect of their no contraception policy).

- The next time you hear someone try to pawn off the "undocumented Immigrant" line, just ask them if that means a rapist is simply an "undocumented husband"?

Man did that picture make me laugh, my side hurts.

I agree that it would not bother me a bit to just use these people for target practice. Maybe that would encourage them to use legal means to enter the country. These "undocumented immigrants" could not care less about our laws, they are criminals and the last thing America needs is more of these people infesting our country. It is horrible here in East TN, a trip to the DMV is like going to a foreign country. If they don't respect the law, I am not going to worry if the Marines use them for target practice.

I have sat in on a many maintenance briefings that included uneffective training missions due to illegals on the ranges.

They cannot drop or shoot anything when the illegals are seen on the range.

Happens way too often.

I've been outside of this country. Several times. In fact, at last reckoning I think I counted that I have been in 17 different countries, in Europe, Asia and South America.

Does that qualify sufficiently me to say "This country is going down the toilet"?

It is, you know, and if you can't see that then I respectfully suggest that you need to get out more.

A. Make sure the area is well-marked in English and Spanish, and pictures.

B. Bomb at will. If they ignore the signs and enter the training area, it's not our problem.
