I was comparing a Glock with and XD(m) today at the gun shop. The Glock clearly has a lower bore axis. Do they have the lowest bore axis of any pistols? What other pistols have a low bore axis?

The HK P7 has the lowest I've ever seen. But the S&W M&P, CZ 75, and a few others are right up there.

Olympic style match pistols have the lowest I have encountered. But the low bore axis of the Glock does not overcome its main disadvantage - top heavy weight distribution because of the steel slide and barrel sitting on a polymer frame and the fact that it undergoes a dramatic change in weight and center of gravity as the magazine is emptied. The first two or three rounds aren't bad but the last 3 or 4 the muzzle climbs higher and higher. I would much rather shoot an all steel gun that has a lower center of gravity and is heavy when empty AND when loaded. Polymer guns are nice to carry but difficult to shoot compared to a pistol that weighs 40 oz. when empty. I'm sure many will disagree with me but you can't argue with the laws of physics. I remember when Glocks first hit the market and I shot one. I did not care for the balance.

So true. You can shoot the steel pistol accurately, at a faster rate of fire also (given the same skill level)

No.
Look at this: The bore is in line within the bones of my forearm. Pardini 75 Free Pistol.
