Why a high bore axis?

If you think seesaw which puts objects at equal distance from the fulcrum is a lever, you really need basic physics lesson.
Apparently you have never played on a seesaw with a small child. If you did you would know that in order to make the seesaw work you have to move closer to the fulcrum in order to balance the weight giving the child better leverage on you however the child must now move a signifigantly further distance to move you.
Shees and I need a lesson, maybe you need to go shooting with a timer and see what bore axis really does to split times.
And if you don't think length of the lever and leverage have any thing to do with splits I suggest you shoot a J or K frame Smith with a boot grip on a clock and then try it with a full length grip.

Yes, you do need a lesson. If you sit closer to the fulcrum, it only gives your kid a leverage against you. It does not give leverage to both you and your kid, like you are claimng high bore axis does with you and recoil.

High bore axis only gives leverage to recoil, not to the shooter, just like your seesaw example only gives your kid leverage.

One sitting closer to the fulcrum is not how a seesaw is designed to work. Now you come up with some deviation in a failed attempt to win a point, but the fact remains that lever in a same condition do not provide leverage both ways.

Non de Forum,

I was simply reacting to where you stated that having a lower bore axis could make a difference in living or not. I can't fathom how that factor would matter in a gunfight to the degree of living or dying.

Your tearing apart my analogy is making the point I was making, bore axis isn't that big of a factor, hence why the analogy was absurd. If you could reduce all variables (from the shooter's perspective) in a gunfight to high vs. low bore axis, that wouldn't get someone killed.

I give. you are correct if you are a small child you need a low bore axis to control muzzle rise because you'll lack the strength to take advantage of the leverage advantage you have of needing to move less to bring the barrel back for the second shot.
