Bore solvents

I have been pleased with Outer's foaming bore solvent. It comes in an aerosol can; you just put the tube in the chamber of your rifle and squirt short bursts until it drips out the muzzle. It foams and expands and cleans both powder and copper residue. The can does state that it's not to be used in gas-operated guns though.

Other products I have used include Birchwood-Casey 2-in-1, Hoppes no. 9 and Remington 40-X. The Birchwood stuff is less expensive and works well, but smells terrible. Hoppes smells good, but does nothing for copper. I've been impressed with the 40X, since it removes lead, carbon, copper, and plastic fouling with no harsh smells but the price is outrageous.

In all fairness I havent used KG 12.
But Robala I use. It is great with copper. However I do use a generic blackpowder solvent or GM TEC for Carbon. Robla isnt very good on carbon... IMHO.
Copper is a different story. I looking forward to geting KG 12 in early April. I do have a Mauser with all of WWII in the barrel to test it on.
