Have you ever sold a particular make and model of a gun, then later on, bought it again?

A few years back, I sold a Remington 1100 and a Browning A5. A couple years later, realized how much I missed both, hunting doves and pheasant and purchased both of them again.

Am I only one of the few to do such? :uhoh:

I bought a Sig P220 in 1991 sold it to a friend when I moved to CA in 1994. My friend sold it to his dad during the time I was out West. When I moved back to NJ almost 15yrs later I looked up my friends dad and he was kind enough to sell it back to me for the same price I had sold it to his son all those years earlier. He told me that neither of them had ever even fired it. So I got back my like new W. Gernam Sig P220. It was a happy day.

I mirror the above post with a W. German P226. Bought the same gun back for the price I sold it for five years earlier.

Glock 17. I got a good deal on on a used one, broke even when I traded it in on something else when I was a little short on cash. Then did it again a while later.

I bought my G19 NIB to use as a beater in late 05 or early 06. Still have it.

The only firearm model I bought twice has been a Ruger Blackhawk. For a brief time in the early 80's I owned a .41mag, fast forward to 2011 when I bought another(.45 convertible). If I knew then what I know now, in this model gun caliber does matter for me.:)

I've done this multiple times with 1911 Colts. Whenever I sold one within a few months I had to buy another.
I have finally admitted that I can't live without one and have kept my last one for over 10 years. I don't shoot it all that much anymore but I know better than to get rid of it.......;)

I've had three Ruger Security Six revolvers come and go, and now (this month) just bought a Security Six and a Service Six. Think I'm keeping these.

I've included a Glock or two in with "bundle" trades, and now have the 3 I want to keep.

As of today, anyway. ;)

Ruger convertible six. I was traveling cross country to go to school after my discharge. I had to sell the Ruger (purchased in 1966 at a base BX in Germany for about $68) because firearms in the dorm were a no no. I have another now ... $325 at a local gun show.

As a younger shooter, I had a Remington 514 and sold it. Also had a Remington 550-1, sold it. I have both models back in my collection and covet them for their beauty and accuracy as well as the memories associated with them.

I sold a mid 1990's Interarms (Rossi) .45 model 92 carbine to a guy at work in around 2002. Big mistake as it was one of those rare rifles that just "fit" me so well that I could almost point shoot that thing and hit what I needed to. I regretted that sale almost as soon as the money was spent on something else.

So, about a year later I asked to buy the gun back. I ended up paying him more than I sold it to him for, but I still have it and use it for my saddle gun, jeep gun and some deer hunting.

I did try a newer one at a gun shop, at it just didn't feel the same. May have been in my head, I dunno.

I make darn sure that I REALLY REALLY do not want something and then sell it. So far I have no regrets or the want to purchase anything back again.:scrutiny:
BTW I can count the firearms I have sold over the years on one hand with a finger to spare.:D

Oh yeah.

Glock 19 and Browning Hi Power, twice each. I don't have the Glocks anymore; I have one Hi Power, a standard model, just purchased last year. I'm trying to learn to shot it well; I tend to shoot very high with the Hi Power, not sure why.

Various 1911s (government and commander size), many, many times. I've owned Colts, Kimbers, Springfields, S&W, Dan Wesson and Les Baer 1911s; now all I have for 1911s is a Colt WWI repro.

Now start a thread about guns you let get away and are still kicking yourself for... I could fill that up pretty quick.

Yes, I've not only sold and rebought the same model, but also the exact same firearm, several times...each time taking a beating I might add

Several times. Notably an arminius hw3 22lr. I bought it used for 59 bucks in 2006? Bobbed the hammer, used and abused it, sold it to my roommate in 2008, bought it back in 2009, sold it to another friend in 2011, bought it back in 2012, and my wife immediately claimed it, so it's going to stay a while this time.

A few years back, I sold a [couple of long guns]. A couple years later, realized how much I missed both, [and] purchased both of them again.

I've done this but only out of necessity.
The Democratic People's Republic of California didn't allow some of what I had, so I sold them.
Bought them back and more when I returned to the United States.

Exception was a Mosin Nagant with a hex receiver I sold for almost nothing ($60) before I moved to CA. I just didn't have room for it. I still kick myself for selling it. And you guys should kick me too for doing that. :(

That's like a fairy tale. Great story, thanks for sharing.

Bought Ruger KP90, sold Ruger KP90, bought Ruger KP90, wife shot Ruger KP90, wife buys own Ruger KP90. I love it when a plan comes together.

Yes, and I'm trying to do it again. About ten years ago, I started selling off my guns. I wasn't shooting much, my kids were young, and I was having vision problems. I sold a 20 gauge SxS that I'd had for 25 years, and then sold a S&W Model 66 4", a no-dash model which I'd had for 30 years. the kids grew up, I got my eyes fixed, and started getting sales regret soon after that. I'm finding it will take double what I sold the guns for to replace them.

I just finally replaced the shotgun a few months ago with the same brand and model, although it is an older gun than the one I had. I'm still looking for a Model 66 that suits me.

I've owned the same beat up 4" M19 twice, it keeps getting traded back and forth among the group I shoot with a good bit as a deal sweetener...it's a great shooter, it just looks like somebody threw it out a car window while traveling at a high rate of speed.

Two Remington 514's, two Browning BT 99's, two S&W Model 19's Three S&W Model 29's, two S&W Model 39-2's. I guess I have a really long learning curve...
