Bought, then sold, then bought again?

The only gun I've sold that I wanted another one of is the Beretta 3032 Tomcat. I've got a wide slide one on layaway now.

The most accurate handgun I ever had was a Ruger Blackhawk, 2 5/8, .45Colt. My hardcast 300 grains would shoot into quarter size groups at 25 yards. Loaded over a heavy dose of 2400. I killed a number of deer with it.

I sold it to finance a motorcycle trip. Years later, I asked the buyer if he still had it. He did, and had never shot it. Bought it back for more money than I sold it. It now rides in my hunting holster rig in the den, and will never leave again unless I myself take it hunting.

Yep...most notable was an AMT backup in 40 S&W.

First was flawless, stupidly sold it bought another which was a jam-o-matic.

I am not the selling kind. Although I do offer loan type deals to friends, I pay them more than a pawn shop and offer a timed buy back for the same price. One such deal was for a Remington 700, SS, chambered in 300 ultra mag with a Nikon scope for $500. Sold it back to him 6 months later, my wife was furious because 3 months was the time frame. In his defense, it was give to him by his wife for his birthday 2 months before he needed Christmas money.

First one was a Gen 3 Glock 19. Ended up replacing it with a Gen 4 a couple years later. I miss the night sights, but the Gen 4 fit my hand better. Also sold a S&W 442 to a friend and got another one a year later when I found out they made them without the lock.

Most definitely...
1) Colt Combat Commander
2) Browning Hi-Power
3) S&W Model 686
4) Ruger Security Six
5) S&W Model 10
6) S&W Model 38/638

I did this with a Ruger 22/45. Will probably do it again for the Glocks and the Mosin/K31 I sold :(

I did this with a Browning BPS shotgun.

I absolutely love this shotgun. Functionally and mechanically, I like it more than the Wingmaster. Unfortunately it doesn't shoulder well for me.

I bought a used one about 12 years ago. Shot it a few times. Could barely hit a stationary clay with it. Sold it to a friend.

Repeat story about 5 years later.

I may still get one and replace the stock.

Thought about it some more and came up with several others that were Buy-Sell-Buy Again guns:
7) Ruger Mk.II Model 512
8) Colt Combat Commander .38 Super
9) Beretta Model 950 Jetfire

The one thing I noticed about this list is that all of my Buy-Sell-Buy Again guns are handguns; I have only done this once with one of my shotguns (I replaced a 12 gauge Model 870 that I sold with another one only to sell it a few years later), but I didn't replace it with another Model 870; went with a Maverick 88 instead. Interesting that I hold onto my rifles and shotguns more than my handguns.

In the early 1970's I sold a S&W M39 to help finance an HK41. I like the 41 but regretted selling the 39 ever since. About 3 weeks ago I lucked into a mint M39, no dash for a very reasonable price. All is well!

I've owned three different Model 66 snubs, and sold a Ruger M77 to a friend, only to buy it back five years later - he never fired it.

Here is how it goes in my house:

Mike goes out and buys a gun.

Mike brings it home, daughters, nephews, etc. look and say "Wow, what a neat gun!"

Mike has no gun.

Mike goes out and looks for a replacement.

I don't even get to recoup some of my cash by selling it for a pittance. It just walks away. Maybe I need to get meaner.......:banghead:

Yes. I sold a all TRW parts made Springfield M1A for $500 dollars in the early 80's and repurchased one exactly like it in the late 80's for $825 dollars. Not doing that again

I have 2 friends who buy a couple of pistols back and forth from each other when one of them needs some extra money.

Yea, like some other posters here, it was the same gun. Sold it to a co-worker, and about 2 years later decided I wanted it back. He'd just put it in his nightstand & never fired it. Cost me an extra $50 above what I sold it for. Was an odd Taurus 605 that had a factory bobbed hammer & was ported. I'm sure there are others out there, but I've never seen one.

D-frame Colts.

I've owned 4 Detective Specials, and two Cobras. Each one I had owned by itself, sold it, and bought another. I like them but always end up selling them for the gotta have it other gun.

Right now, I own no D-frames and again I've been kinda looking for a nice Cobra...

Got an older 700 .270 from my wife's uncle who hadn't shot it in years. As a lefty, I had no interest in a right hand bolt, and not in a .270, but the price was good. Sold it a couple years later for a fair price, buyer never shot it, and we were talking one day, and the rest is history. Bought it back for, as I recall, less money. Still never shot it. In the safe likely to go to a niece or nephew on that side of the family. Someday. Maybe.

Liberty model Blackhawk 357
Glock 19
S&W Highway Patrolman model 28
XD 45 auto (although the barrel lengths were different)
Kahr 45 auto
Colt Government Model
Ruger Super Redhawk 44 magnum (sold it again)
Ruger 77 left hand (different caliber)

I'm sure there are more I don't recall just now. Apparently I'm a slow learner.

Ar15. I typically like anything with wood furniture so resisted ar15s for years. I finally caved to help somebody out of a cash crunch. I took it to the range a couple times, stocked up on ammo and reloading supplies for it but it still never made the preferred range rotation. When they became endangered species, i didnt feel right keeping it when so many people actually wanted one but couldnt find one. Traded it and all the dies, ammo, bullets, and cases. I vowed to never mess with that volatile craziness again. Now i have three. Each has a slightly different form and purpose.
