Brady Campaign grades Obama: "F" in gun control

I honestly believe that gun culture has simply made a huge comeback. And the Internet has facilitated unprecedented grassroots activism from our side.

There is indeed a glimmer of hope... that further gun control, as a national policy, is finally dead. Let's not relax, and continue putting nails in that coffin. :)

Simply put, the whole gun-control movement has run its course. It started really moving under Regan ('86 MG Ban), gained momentum through the Bush I years, Peaked in 1994 under Clinton's term, and receded back into anonymity by the time Bush II took over.

Successful politicians are like a bunch of surfers, they will ride whatever wave that is coming their way. Pro-gun control in '94 anti-gun control in '04. Whole shebang is just a massive popularity contest, after all.

Now, after all the old timers gave away our rights to defend ourselves (If you are over 40, its YOUR fault that gun rights are in the state that they are. YOU handed them over and patted yourself on the back over crime control.), the newer, more sensible generation (see: people under 30), are taking them back while rekindling the spirit of freedom, independence, and self-reliance, that many children of the 80's never knew.

If anything, we should cheer on blue dog Democrats, and ANY AND EVERYONE that supports and works towards our right to keep and bear arms. Regardless of their political leanings. A right restored is a right restored, regardless if its by your favorite blue or red debate team.

I for one think this is great news. The sooner liberal politics and gun control are separated, the better. The less allies your enemy has, the less you have to worry about them.

Maybe the folks in Mass can actually breathe a bit, now that the FAR LEFT Stanglehold had been broken...

I'm not so sure "gun control" has run its course as mentioned above. The push for gun control legislation started long before Ronald Reagan became president and long before the 1968 Gun Control Act.

I guess the Brady folks want to shake BHO up with an F rating. That is worse than I rate him running the economy.

It really scares me how many on this forum think the gun control threat is over or even diminished. They're just biding their time. Waiting for the right moment.

;)
The politicians who believe in gun control still believe in it. Senator Diane Feinstein from California has even said that she's still desirous of another assault weapon ban .... she's just waiting for the circumstances to arise to make it possible.

The problem with Brady is...

Well, among many problems...

Is that they do not see President Obama as hard or harsh enough on gun control.

He is already so far left of gun owners it is not even funny. As mentioned before, he is from the Daley-machine style politics of Illinois, and has adopted that frame of mind (yes, sorry to say for Illinoisians) that "guns are bad."

However, also as noted previously, he looks tame compared to the Brady Bunch (sorry, the Brady organization) which is what he and his party want to be perceived as to the gun owners.

it is a (as my dear departed grandfather used to say) "a put-up job."

I'm glad that the Prez and his very anti-gun cohorts have been unable and/or unwilling to tackle added gun control, but I have no doubt that they would seize the opportunity to impose draconian anti-gun laws if they see that there political hay to be made.

Recent history has shown that the American people have a shorter memory than your average gnat. While Obama's popularity is pretty low at this point, a rebound in the economy could lead to a huge increase in his public approval ratings. Remembering that most Democrats and a significant number of Republicans favor more stringent gun control, it would be foolish to count him out insofar as efforts to impinge on the RKBA. I'm sure the President would relish the opportunity to improve his Brady grade to an "A-plus."

The Democrats are only holding off on the gun issues until the 2010 and 2012 elections are done. Then, if they still have a majority, the s__t will really hit the fan and it'll hit with an unstoppable vengence.

This anti's haven't lost their spots............ they're just camoflaging them until the time is right.

Please join the NRA plus any state organizations that fight for our Constitutional rights.

If all past history and voting records point to an anti gun stance why would one think that NOW the President or the others mentioned may have changed their agenda? In the future the reversal will play out and then we all can believe they have changed. Until that time I for one will subscribe to the old saying: If it walks like a duck, has feathers, Quacks, and looks like a duck then it must BE a duck.:D

I think "WE" as gun owners did more than Brady or Obama could do. Look at 9mm/45acp/5.56/7.62 ammo prices, AR-15 $1000 AK $800 SKS $400. Prices are slowly coming down and still can't get cheap ammo from Wally world. Gun owners should give Obama an A+ gun salesman of the year2008-2009.:banghead:

I know you have a restriction on me MPing you, but I could not have said it better.

Elvishead, we're cool. It was a while ago, and I thank you for your comment.

So if brady give him a F and NRA gives him a F (or near that) where does that leave him. The ugly step child no one wants to claim?

The whole world is moving to one currency, (referring to the canadian-american-mexican "Amero" that has been proposed) and many believe that the UN is trying to take over the world. Think about it......... No country on earth has ever been able to take over the entire world, so it seems the only way to do it is to let a coalition of major powers form a union, and that union will take over the entire world. Gun control will have to be part of that effort if they are going to be successful, just like Hitler had to grab all the guns before he went on his wicked rampage.
As for me? I'll be studying the good book to try and understand the warnings and instructions on the coming of the end times, and during my studies, I'll be keeping all of my guns close by.
I am horrified by what happened to Mr Brady himself, but his organization has turned out to be as Anti - American as anything I have ever seen. If Mr. Brady himself had full mental capacity to understand what the organization of his namesake was doing, (I say that not to be rude to the man, he suffered a terrible head injury, and I mean no disrespect,) but if he knew the ramifications of his own organization, I'm quite sure that he would have shut it down before it ever started. President Obama apalls me based on political stance. The Brady organization absolutely makes me sick unto regergitation, because they are pretending to use gun control as an implied, "public safety measure."

Hi, I think the best to do is to get rid of BO by electing a pro-gun presiden ans strengthen your influenc om mainstreamsociety. go on massmedia and use all you can use to make your enemies look stupid in the eyes of the average people, introduce more to the pleasures of gunownership. I think you have a break to take breath, use it well!
