I recently picked up a Beretta model 92 I can't seem to find to much info on and was wondering if anyone may know more about them. It is marked as follows:

Left side of slide marked - Pist Mod 92 Cal 9 para Beretta
Left side of frame - serial # 076xx Brazil
Right side of frame - Inter-American SAC'TO, CA.

Pistol came in a yellow and white Beretta box marked: PISTOLA SEMI-AUTOMATICA MOD.92 CAL. 9mm "PARABELLUM" DUPLA ACAO SERIE 92 DOUBLE ACTION

Also came w/operators instructions and 1 15 rd mag.

Thank You,

It could be a Beretta made in Brazil before they sold the machinery to Taurus. Can you carry it cocked and locked? You can do this with the early Berettas and with the Taurus up to the mid 90s I think. Interamerican would be the importer stamp.

Taurus 92s can still be cocked and locked. They still use the frame mounted saftey.

Wasn't aware of that 1911. My Taurus is vintage 1988 and has been running strong since.

The early Berettas did not have the hammer drop if I recall correctly.

I seriously doubt this is a Taurus as the slide is marked Beretta.
