My only incident occured in the spring on 1971. I was a young Air Force officer going home on leave from Ga to La.. I had just crossed into Alabama on old US 80 when a carload of bros started pulling alongside then dropping back, finally pulling ahead and cutting me off. At that point i slowed and pulled onto the narrow shoulder and they pulled off about 150 feet in front of me.
They get out of their old car and start toward me, then notice my long barrel K-38 braced on my open driver door aimed in their direction. They promptly reversed, got back in their car and could not leave fast enough.
Luckily I did not have to fire a shot, nor did I report the incident, I did not even know which county I was in and was miles from any town.
