I picked it up yesterday after waiting 11 days from date of purchase (Yes, in PRK many gun shops require 11 days so as to avoid someone buying a gun at 5pm and trying to pick it up at 8am on the 10th day--it must be 10 full days, ten 24hr periods). I could hardly sleep the night before, I was like a kid on Christmas Eve. I had not bought a gun in about 14 years! I would like to thank ArmoredMan for recommending me the CZ P-01. This gun was hard to find. I had been trying to buy one since Christmas. I paid $549, which means $625.36 out the door. Oh yeah, I also had to buy a $10 CA (DOJ)approved gun-lock before I could walk out with the gun.
I took it home, field-stripped it, cleaned it, then took it to the range and shot it.
My photography skills and equipment are both bad. Not shown are 6 snap-caps, an allen-wrench, and a pointy tool that came with the gun. Also, the date on the targets should read 2-19-06, not 2-9-06.
My first target. 35 rounds at ~7 yards. The group probably could have been tighter had I not begun attempting to shoot out the red center. Unlike my Glock 17 which I tend to shoot a little to the left, I was hitting to the right with the P-01. A little less finger on the trigger seemed to prove remedial.
My second target. 15 rounds at ~7 yards. Again, this group would have been tighter but I was attempting to reconcile POI with POA.
I hope that this is a better shot of the pistol. Please don't hold the gun responsible for my poor picture-taking.
I really like how the P-01 fits and feels in my hand. The controls are all very accessible. The trigger is different from what I am used to on my other handguns (Glock 17, Ruger Super Blackhawk) but I expect that it will become familiar to me in no time (with dry-firing and range time). Thanks everyone for sharing my joy! The CZ P-01 Rocks!
