Buckmark keeps shooting low

I have a browning buckmark URX. I've taken it to the range a few times and put around 1,000 rounds through it. Only thing I did to it was add a truglo front fiber optic sight.

One thing I have found is I have been having to continuously adjust the rear sight higher and higher as the gun keeps shooting low. Today I was having an issue with the firing pin barley clipping the top of the rim and not discharging the round.

I noticed both front and rear screws that hold the slide on had gotten loose so I tightened them which solved the issue of the light strikes. But I kept having to adjust the rear sight for height. The height adjustment screw has probably been adjusted 2 or 3 full turns to bring it upwards.

This is my first purchased handgun so it could possibly be me as I am fairly new to handgun shooting.

The ironic part though is my father gave me his smith and wesson model 27 .357 mag which I have taken to the range a few times, once along with the buckmark, and I can shoot much more consistently and accurately with the .357 than I can with the buckmark. I could shoot 2 inch groups consistently with the .357 at 10 yards where as the buckmark I get a 3-4in group with some wild flyers about an inch lower than where I'm aiming even after sight adjustment.

Like I said it could be my inexperience, but I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue with the buckmark. Has been a fantastic gun so far just has a few quirks for me personally.

The rear screw is the one that usually comes loose, and if it gets too lose you'll get FTF. If it becomes an issue and pain for you, you can try a drop of loctite. I usually just keep an eye on it as I like to clean mine after a range session. As far as the site goes, check the set screw to see if its loose. You may also want to try a variety of ammo. Find the one it likes and stick with it. At 10 yards you should have one ragged hole about the size of a nickel +/- if you've found the right ammo.

was the fiberoptic sight for the buckmark model. it's been a few years since i had my Buckmark eclipse but i had replaced the front sighl and i think it was a truglo as well but i didn't have any problems with running out of rear sight adjustment.
i did later go back to the factory sights for more precise shooting later on. the top edge seemed crisper.

i never did disassemble that gun but just cleaned with a brush from the sides, breech end and bolt face and boresnake.

Was it shooting high prior to your putting the new front sight on? A tall front sight will make the pistol shoot low (as will a short rear).
