outofbattery posted: if I only had $150 to spend,I'm using it on a Model 10 S&W

I did a quick search and would like to know where one can buy a decent S&W Model 10 for $150 or even close to that? Cheapest listed for was $375 for a used blued one and $475 for a nice stainless. Even the pawn shops and gunshows around here sell them in the $300 plus range. Actually, I'd like to find a deal on a Model 15 as I carried one in Vietnam.

Not to mention 9mm is cheaper than .38 hands down.
Also, at least around here, every gun store has a whole shelf of 9mm in 20+ varieties and flavors ranging from cheap plinking FMJ to uber expensive "death ray" rounds while their .38 Special and .357 Magnum selection is hardly bigger than the .357 Sig selection. Two or three varieties and you're lucky if they have more than a few boxes of any of it.

To those who own the c9, how's the recoil? Being a 3.5", aluminum/polymer gun, and being staright blowback (which I didn't know until I read this article), I'd have to think its pretty stout for a 9mm.I have an Astra 600 9mm, which is probly about 50% larger, and is all steal, so its probly double the weight (just a guess, but I wouldn't be at all surprised) and it's recoil feels pretty close to my 1911 .45acp! The wife likes 9mm, and we have looked at the c9, but never found one to actually fire. She thinks the recoil on my Astra as too much, so how's the c9?

I may have to get one of these Hi-Point pistols. Perhaps then I won't find my Wyoming Arms/Parker 10mm so freakin' ugly.

I don't own any Hi-points, but I have shot most of their models at one time or another over the past few years. ( I shoot with a bunch of guys that call ourselves 'The Cheap Galoots'. )

Clunky, ugly, etc all that stuff. But they go Bang! on request, every time. And they put the lead where you aim.

For under $200 N-I-B, what more could you ask?

Took the GF out shooting yesterday since I wanted to check feed and function on some nine I built. Took the trusty Hi-Point 9mm carbine out. She had never shot anything bigger than .22 rifle. She shot the target below at 50 ft. May have been a mistake. Last time I set someone shoot it they kept it for two years and it cost me a fortune in ammo (my son!)
