Budget Defense Ammo?

CCI/Blazer can be had with Speer hollowpoint bullets... it works as well as anything I suppose. I buy Blazer once in a while for my .25... since I don't reload for that.

Fiocchi ammo isn't bad. Some loading are a little hotter than standard.

Based on my experience with Wolf rifle ammo... nope I wouldn't use that.

No experience with Magtech.

I can't speak for their 9mm, but all the Magtech .38 and .357 I've ever used was flawless. I haven't tried the premium stuff yet, just the blue-box.

I'd pick Fiocchi and PCM if by PCM you mean PMC, the stuff that's made in Korea, I think. Only because I have no experience with the others. As has been mentioned, the WWB hollowpoints are a good low budget choice. Federal makes some 'personal defense' ammo that is a little pricier. I'd use that instead any of the others.

Of course shot placement is #1 and I will admit to using WWB hollowpoints before but this thread reminds me when I have seen condoms and even home pregnancy tests at the 99cent or less store, there is just some things in life you do not want to scrimp on!

I'm a big fan of Speer Gold Dots...

You didn't list those, but luckily, CCI Blazer loads Gold Dots into many of their hollowpoint loads. :D That's what I'd go for.

If you couldn't get those, PMC's Starfire loads are good stuff.

load your own

a reloader will pay for itself pretty quickly...
I have a dillon, but other good ones are out there...
and load a good JHP like hornady XTP and will have
a good round...

Whatever else, MUST go bang!

I've encountered a couple of hard primers with Fiochi .45 acp, so I'd not use
those, nor would I use Wolf, which is perceptably underpowered.

The others haven't failed me.
