You mean, why didn't they expend time, money and effort to keep people who break the rules from penalizing themselves? Why bother? Then why didn't they design the order page so you could not even choose more than one unit?

What else would you call people who are told "one per customer" who try and take five? Thrifty?
So your blaming the customer?
If you explicitly tell someone not to do X and they do X anyway and screw things up, whose fault is it?So your blaming the customer?
i am. their customers are embarrassing themselves
Can't speak for Buds, but I can say that if I were a gun dealer, I wouldn't be all broken up about losing "customers" who are upset because their own decision to break the rules prevented them from buying merchandise at $200 under cost.Buds has lots of customers. This was obviously an attempt to get MORE. Afraid the opposite might have happened.
Yeah, pretty much. A couple (hundred... or thousand maybe) idiots who think the rules don't apply to them may just be responsible for this.So your blaming the customer? Yep, that's what Bud's said.
If you read the statement, they said this was meant to reward long term repeat customers. The fact that several thousand new accounts were made just to get this deal lends credence to the greedy customer theory. Now I wish I could see the data and see how many of those new accounts will stick around over the next 6 months and actually make a purchase. My guess is that less than 5% of new Black Friday accounts will ever make a purchase.LOL, Buds has lots of customers. This was obviously an attempt to get MORE. I've never shopped through Buds. This, however, is not enough to prevent me from doing so in the future.
Bud's owes me a $99 pistol. WalMart owes me a 50" flat screen. The government owes me food stamps. Much entitlement these days.
It's not my fault, I don't know if it's your fault or not. It's the fault of people who didn't follow the rules and the fault of people who somehow think that when a business has a sale, they are entitled to something at the sale price. If you don't follow the rules, you aren't entitled to anything, and just because there's a sale, you aren't guaranteed to be able to buy something at the sale price. Any adult should understand that infinite supplies do not exist and that when a company offers items for sale below their cost, they have to limit their losses or they won't be able to stay in business. It's our fault not theirs...
Correct. It's not Buds' fault that there are apparently a lot of people who thought that there were unlimited supplies of guns for sale under Buds' cost. It's not their fault if you fell for the Okeedoke.
Not at all. There are deals at Buds, but the truly screaming deals (like $300 guns selling for $100) have to be limited in order for Buds to stay in business. I do agree that anyone who thinks that any business can sell tons of product for way under their cost probably isn't a genius. You're an idiot, if you thought you could find a deal at Buds.
Well, clearly this thread demonstrates that some people understand the situation. But yeah, basically...Basically... You're all stupid and whiners...
Did you even read the response from Buds? This was meant to reward long term members? Really? Was this an open sale or limited to existing members? It would have been quite easy to limit sales to existing members. This obviously is just an excuse and attempt to save face. Total bull****.
FWIW, I did not try to order from Buds and only became aware of this situation through this sight. I have no dog in this fight, except for the fact that I call BS when I perceive it
Boycott Buds if it makes you feel better. At least they didn't pull some crap like CTD. How many have stuck to that boycott in the last couple years I wonder?

I was referring to their decision to raise their prices and use fear mongering marketing tactics to sell ARs and accessories for vastly inflated prices after Sandy Hook.*raises hand*
I dont know what crap you're referring to, but CTD never left a good impression on me. But I haven't dealt with them since they wanted to charge about $30 shipping on about $45 worth of small parts.
They may learn from this. Next year, they might limit the sale to senior members. If they even do a sale.
There is a difference in pointing out a debacle ( I've pointed out it was a debacle) and claiming it was done purposefully as a scam or a bait and switch. Sorry the Buds VP didn't coddle and pander to everyone who didn't get a gun at $200 below retail. Sorry Buds decided to make a decision and explain what their IT department said was the underlying cause of the problem. The whining and hand wringing and entitled attitudes about this aren't satisfied with the outcome or the explanation. Big Whoop. So the people that are just pointing out the debacle are whiners and just have a sense of entitlement? wow, actually i see more people here whining about the people they say are whining than the people that are supposedly whining about buds is whining.
