This was the motto of Sigung at the end of each class over the decades. He was trained by the previous grandmaster from Okinawa who trained in the Art of War in China. He served as a Pathfinder in Vietnam and rescued downed pilots held captive. He was a sniper also, and he continued his training until becoming the grandmaster of this art after the previous one passed away. He was challenged many times by other teachers with macho attitudes, but he knew what it was like to have to use his bare hands to take lives in war....more than most would imagine.
Because of this he taught peace as the first option in conflict.
Yet is amazes me at my age, looking at social media, how much some people love to create conflict, give subtle insults, call people names, ridicule and belittle. Those types of people destroy and have the spirit of contention.
Now I challenge those who read this to build up others who are new, who are not as experienced, who are needing to understand how to resolve issues, and do so with respect! Did your parents ever teach those principles to you? If so, be a great citizen of America and a great contributor to the movement of freedom in our land of God fearing and amazing people.
Thank you.

Many people cannot take constructive criticism anymore. It makes it very difficult when someone is way off the path to bring them back without "offending" them in the process.

People have to want to learn and grow. Instead, they think they know it all and cannot handle coaching or guidance. Should we just leave those ones behind? I do not have the patience for them myself.

Sometimes to build you have to first destroy.

You are correct in that there needs to be a desire to learn.
Construct is to build. Constructive criticism is an art and I see it as a waning art in our modern society. Christ taught the higher way. Many great teachers, such as Steven Covey taught with higher methods. I have experienced both ways, I have only been edified by the constructive manner. Thank you.

Some people are so sensitive that they can’t handle the slightest criticism. This site is one of the most patient and understanding in all the web, yet some people still get their feelings hurt.
