I found this at www.warrifles.com and thought it worth passing along. At the very least, it is thought provoking and unsettling.

Your comments, please...
FOR THOSE OF YOU ON THE "CONSERVATIVE" SIDE OF THE FENCE, READ THIS AND LEARN TO UNDERSTAND YOUR FEELINGS BETTER THAN EVER.

FOR THOSE OF YOU NOT ON THE "CONSERVATIVE" SIDE OF THE FENCE, READ AND LEARN FROM A DIFFERENT VIEWPOINT.

Please take the time to read this; it ought to scare the pants off you!

We know Dick Lamm as the former Governor of Colorado. In that context
his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an
immigration overpopulation conference in Washington, DC, filled to
capacity by many of America's finest minds and leaders. A brilliant
college professor by the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his
latest book, "Mexifornia," explaining how immigration - both legal and
illegal was destroying the entire state of California. He said it would
march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The
American Dream.

Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and
gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America. The audience sat
spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the
United States. He said, "If you believe that America is too smug, too
self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy America. It is not that
hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time.
Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and
that 'An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit
suicide.'"

"Here is how they do it," Lamm said: "First, to destroy America, turn
America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country."

History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and
antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a
blessing for an individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for
a society to be bilingual. The historical scholar, Seymour Lipset, put
it this way: "The histories of bilingual and bi-cultural societies that
do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy."
Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, and Lebanon all face crises of national
existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence.
Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic
rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques, Bretons, and
Corsicans.".

Lamm went on: Second, to destroy America, "Invent 'multiculturalism'
and encourage immigrants to maintain their culture.
I would make it an
article of belief that all cultures are equal. That there are no
cultural differences. I would make it an article of faith that the
Black and Hispanic dropout rates are due solely to prejudice and
discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out of
bounds.

Third, "We could make the United States an 'Hispanic Quebec' without
much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity.
As
Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently: "The apparent
success of our own multiethnic and multicultural experiment might have
been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance
that once dictated ethnocentricity and what it meant to be an American,
we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together."
Lamm said, "I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language
and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with the salad
bowl metaphor. It is important to ensure that we have various cultural
subgroups living in America enforcing their differences rather than as
Americans, emphasizing their similarities."

"Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least
educated.
I would add a second underclass, unassimilated,
undereducated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this
second underclass have a 50% dropout rate from high school."

"My fifth point for destroying America would be to get big foundations
and business to give these efforts lots of money.
I would invest in
ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of 'Victimology.' I
would get all minorities to think that their lack of success was the
fault of the majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all
minority failure on the majority population."

"My sixth plan for America's downfall would include dual citizenship,
and promote divided loyalties.
I would celebrate diversity over unity.
I would stress differences rather than similarities. Diverse people
worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other - that is, when they
are not killing each other. A diverse, peaceful, or stable society is
against most historical precedent. People undervalue the unity it takes
to keep a nation together. Look at the ancient Greeks. The Greeks
believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common
language and literature; and they worshipped the same gods. All Greece
took part in the Olympic games. A common enemy, Persia, threatened
their liberty. Yet all these bonds were not strong enough to overcome
two factors: local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured
political divisions. Greece fell. "E. Pluribus Unum" -- >From many, one.
In that historical reality, if we put the emphasis on the 'pluribus'
instead of the 'Unum,' we will balkanize America as surely as Kosovo."

"Next to last, I would place all subjects off limits; make it taboo to
talk about anything against the cult of 'diversity.'
I would find a
word similar to 'heretic' in the 16th century - that stopped discussion
and paralyzed thinking. Words like 'racist' or 'xenophobe' halt
discussion and debate.
Having made America a bilingual/bicultural
country, having
established multi-culturism, having the large foundations fund the
doctrine of 'Victimology,' I would next make it impossible to enforce
our immigration laws.
I would develop a mantra: That because
immigration has been good for America, it must always be good.
I would
make every individual immigrant symmetric and ignore the cumulative
impact of millions of them."

In the last minute of his speech, Governor Lamm wiped his brow.
Profound silence followed. Finally he said,. "Lastly, I would censor
Victor Hanson Davis's book "Mexifornia."
His book is dangerous. It
exposes the plan to destroy America. If you feel America. deserves to
be destroyed, don't read that book."

There was no applause. A chilling fear quietly rose like an ominous
cloud above every attendee at the conference. Every American in that
room knew that everything Lamm enumerated was proceeding methodically,
quietly, darkly, yet pervasively across the United States today.
Discussion is being suppressed. Over 100 languages are ripping the
foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness. Even
barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing
as we celebrate 'diversity.' American jobs are vanishing into the Third
World as corporations create a Third World in America - take note of
California and other states - to date, ten million illegal aliens and
growing fast. It is reminiscent of George Orwell's book "1984." In that
story, three slogans are engraved in the Ministry of Truth building:
"War is peace," "Freedom is slavery," and "Ignorance is strength."

Governor Lamm walked back to his seat. It dawned on everyone at the
conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy is
deeply in trouble and worsening fast. If we don't get this immigration
monster stopped within three years, it will rage like a California
wildfire and destroy everything in its path, especially The American
Dream
While all the above is taking place at a frenzied pace, according to some politicians We The People - the legitimate, lawful citizens of the United States - are supposed to throw away our right to arms and render ourselves defenseless in the face of this threat.

I don't think so.

A great speech and very, very on the mark. Question is, why is this administration so supportive of this invasion and what can we do about it?

Fair questions...

why is this administration so supportive of this invasion

Too many people making too much money off the de facto slave labor?

There are always those who WANT a large group of second-class citizens, because there's good money in it -- but only until the poo hits the ventilator. Then there's hell to pay.

FOR THOSE OF YOU ON THE "CONSERVATIVE" SIDE OF THE FENCE, READ THIS AND LEARN TO UNDERSTAND YOUR FEELINGS BETTER THAN EVER.
I underlined the important part. The "feeling" seems to be "I hate Mexicans". And yeah, I guess it takes most folks an awful lot of words to rationalize that into something not obnoxious.

"Immigration monster destroying the American Dream". Snicker. It's what I've come to expect during election season I guess, but it still surprises me when grown men actually fall for it.

Oh, and I figure it's headed for the delete pile, anyway.

Perhaps if you'd added something about best guns and loads for shooting Mexicans...

IMHO, Bush is guilty of treason

Question is, why is this administration so supportive of this invasion and what what we do about it?
Another question: Why did Bush - who is sworn to protect and defend the Constitution - sign an agreement with the heads of state of Mexico and Canada to do the following:

1). Dissolve the northern and southern borders of the U.S.

2). Create a "North American Union" which will be "administrated" by a composite government of politicians from all three former nations

3). with no U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights in effect?

If that does not qualify as treason, I don't know what does.

.38-

I'm from Orange County myself, and I can understand why you would see this dichotomously. When I lived there, the word "Mexican" was said as if it were a racial slur.

However, when large numbers of people who come here illegally from another country actually march in the streets and claim that this place is really theirs, then I see a third option. That option really IS the decline of a national identity that people want (like my parents) to join.

If you think that all people of Mexican descent were united behind the May marchers, I can tell you it's not true down here.

E Pluribus Unum is our country's motto, right? Unity is something we value. Anyone who wants to join the club should have a shot at it, IMHO. But those who want only to take from, and not to engage in, our society, should understand that there are limits to what we are willing to give. Believe me, I've met plenty of Germans and other Europeans who fit this more than Mexicans I've met. My parents (from Austria) spoke the same way about some of the people they knew, back in the 1960s already, as this speech. The people they spoke about were White Europeans with high-end jobs and professions. This isn't about race, for some of us, I assure you.

.38 Special...

Way to contribute there, slugger. Anything constructive to add?

Accusing of racism validates the truth of Lamm's assertions

what brand of tin foil is best for making hats?
The #1 selling brand in California: "DENIAL":neener:

WRONG.It's got nothing to do with "hating" Mexicans.

ArmedBear -- Tell you the truth, I'm a bit torn on the issue. For the most part, I don't have a problem with immigration. These folks come here to work, just like most of our forefathers. The complaints of "not paying taxes", "abusing the healthcare system", "commiting crimes", etc. tend to fall either into the "I hate Mexicans and need to rationalize it" category or the "Plain old made-up BS" category.

I agree that the whole "race pride" business is foolish and that encouraging cultural diversity is a bad idea. It comes down to the fact that encouraging people to think of themselves as different is a losing strategy. It's just too bad that sentiment is almost always couched in "I hate Mexicans" diatribes.

.38spl, it's a post that comes up very often, and it's 100% real, not manufactured. True, you can dismiss everything it says by the old, "He's a racist, he's lieing." dismissal, but eventually you might want to consider his points.

Consider, for instance, that in Mexico if you aren't Mexican born you can't get jobs in any government capacity.

""Immigration monster destroying the American Dream""

Mexico has a bad government. The country is in bad shape. Instead of re-thinking thier failing economic policies, the gov't exports the results of their failings to other countries. Do you think Mexico is sending over their literate and talented people?

Show me any other country in the world that doesn't stop uninvited guests at their borders? Their are certain camps that advocate not having borders, but only with many other libertarian Preconditions happening first.

The appropriate response to galactically bad thinking is to poke fun at it. You're welcome.

I'm not arguing that it's unreal or a lie. I'm simply arguing that it's typical of the "conservative" anti-Mexican claptrap that comes around every 2-4 years. And I consider it through the eyes of someone intimately familiar with American history. It's EXACTLY the same kind of crap that was thrown at the Puerto Ricans, the Irish, the Italians, and just about any other group that's "invaded" the country over the past 100-odd years. "They'll take over! They'll ruin our way of life! They're abusing the system!"

Consider, for instance, that in Mexico if you aren't Mexican born you can't get jobs in any government capacity.
Okay. I've considered it. Now what does that have to do with Mexicans taking over America?

I gather you've never been to Europe.

WRONG.It's got nothing to do with "hating" Mexicans.
I disagree, although perhaps "hate" is too strong a word. "Just don't want 'em in my neighborhood, or have to talk to them, and stuff" might be a more accurate phrase.

Huh. I don't recall making anything taboo, or using words like "racist" and "xenophobe". Ya'll are welcome to continue talking about it right up until a mod shows up, as far as I'm concerned.

And I'll continue making fun of it 'till then too. Or at least until I get bored.

A masterful post from another Blue State mind!
Another typical republican argument.
Oh yeah!?! You're a liberal! OH yeah?! You're a conservative!
Very constructive. We yell back and forth at eachother about the color of our state, while the government gets bigger, and bigger, and bigger.

yeah cause then...

who'd mow your lawn? Or paint your house? Or clean your house? For SLAVE WAGES!

Cause those Mexicans (who wern't singled out, just genitle mutilators) who wait for work at Home Depot are living the american dream.

you know;

Poverty, Fear of Deportation, 2nd class all the way.

I wish you could live that American Dream long enough to understand your bigotry.

For some reason the only pro Illegal Alien debate is "you're a racist and a zenophobe" that was addressed in the speech.

Legal imigration is fine.

But Illegial Imigration is a crime and that makes Illegal Aliens Criminals.
That's why in California a dispropotionate number of prisoners are Illegal Aliens.

So yes, maybe the topic of which caliber and firearm should be used to defend your life and your family's life against Criminal Aliens should be a topic.

If you cared about "undocumented imigrants":barf: you'd do stuff to improve their country so they'd have no reason to leave it.

The worst part is the families they leave at home. Dads who leave little kids and Mom back in Ecuador to make more money and send some home. One month the money quits coming, Dad "forgot" he was Dad and found a new woman here.:fire: I must have been a racist when my friends had that happen when mom or dad went overseas for a better life. Seeing those women cry because their husband abandoned them for money, and after 6 month abandoned them completely. That's why many popular songs were on the subject while I lived LEGALLY in Ecuador on a temporary visa that prohibited working.

I was racist for seeing the 3 year old boy that had no idea who his parents were because they paid $25,000 to bew smuggled to America and left their kids with an aunt. They send money home each month, and that money sure does replace momi and papi to a 3 year old boy.:fire:

Ok, off the soap box. But yes, imigration is a threat to our nation and our civil rights, including RKBA.

what can we do?

first of all, declare an official language in this country!
i'm insulted! i came here 9 years ago, spoke no English.
i'm rather fluent as of today. it angers me to see imigrants with no english skills what so ever !:fire:
and more so, i just got my voters registration/information card. it's in english AND spanish !!! *** !!!

Thanks, armedpolak!

Honestly, I think that this debate should be held among LEGAL IMMIGRANTS and NATURALIZED CITIZENS.

Most people born in the US feel lucky and guilty, so we don't feel comfortable having a frank discussion. And for some reason, perhaps it's the influence of our universities, we're all too quick to shrink at the silliest accusation of racism

I think that if .38 really wanted to discuss this, and was open to new ideas, he'd look up the original date when the speech was made. It might open his eyes.
Rather than forcing me to wade through acres of "SHTF" dreck, perhaps you could just open my eyes for me?
