What does an average 5 gal bucket of range brass weigh? What would be a fair price for said bucket sight unseen? Same for range lead. I might be getting lucky.

Wheel weights right now are averaging .30-.40 a lb. I would think the same for the lead from the range. You might consider the range as well, if they only allow jacked bullets your paying a lot of money for copper jackets you won't use, and may not be able to get the lead out. Can't help you on the brass

i`m gonna say a 5 gal bucket of brass (mixed) will average 75# .
i have a bucket 1/2 full or better & it weighed 38# .

Just looking for an average weight on range brass. It would be wildly assorted and most likely have steel and aluminum as well, pistol and rifle too. Swept up off the range is what I am looking at. What would be a fair price to ask to buy it knowing that it will be whatever was fired?

Thanks GP100man for weighing one.

place local to me sells the same type of bucket. for pistol there seems to be a lot less steel and aluminum than in the rifle range (steel). They go for $100 a bucket. just wondering what your range sells 'em for
no, I haven't bought any to weigh & sort yet, but I've been considering it.

Factoring in my ratio of junk to good reloadable brass- It's about 10# - 12# per gallon. I pay $1 a pound for bulk unsorted brass.

Been paying $10 a bucket for wheel weights, they don't need tin added to harden them up like range lead does (if a lot of FMJ is in there).
