Bulk/Steel Cased .308 ammo & AR10(ish) platforms

Have any AR-10 like .308 owners fired either Herter's or Tula 150gr steel cased ammo? How 'bout Wolf or Brown Bear for that matter? I have an RRA LAR-8 and wanted to start building a stock of bulk ammo. The prices are decent. I know they are 'dirty', but really want to know if they cycle reliably. Appreciate the feedback.

Don't know about LAR-8, but DPMS LR-308 runs fine with Wolf. Get a small quantity first to be sure for you. Read the fine print in your manual and warranty; the mfr might not warranty if using some kinds of ammo. For pennies more, there are some sources for DAG or Radway Green.

There is plenty of good NATO surplus at affordable prices, why risk a problem shooting dirty combloc ammo. I'm getting very good results with MEM and DAG in my Noveske SASS.

German DAG is good stuff! Yet I've never had any problems with my stash of Silver Bear 308. It went through my friends AR-10 with no problems and my L1A1 will eat it.

I broke in my LR-308 on Brown Bear. It cycled fine, though I never really shot a large quantity of it without cleaning. I did notice that it left the action a little dirtier than NATO surplus. On the other hand, I didn't notice a significant accuracy difference.
