Bumper Sticker Logic?

New... according to them because before Heller, they never would have admitted that anyone has a 2nd Amendment right. They still don't believe it anyway.

They sure work themselves into a sweat over the Starbucks issue, but they can't seem to state how it has created any 'gun violence'; something they are supposedly constructed to thwart. You'd think they would not oppose something that has not proven to incite gun violence. Sort of like MADD battling the lumber industry in an effort to reduce drunk driving.

I'd like to know what they mean when they use quotation marks around the words gun rights.

Invoking “bumper sticker logic” at every turn, members of the growing “open carry” movement of radical Second Amendment advocates have been gathering in restaurants and coffee shops across the nation, with highly-visible pistols and revolvers hanging from their hips.

with highly visible lol???

I saw a picture once of a gsg-5 I think or one of those semi auto guns that are short, anyways it was a SBR in a holster carryed by some guy. I wonder what liberals would think of someone carrying one of those around :what:( can you do that CCW with SBR ?? the holster was on him with his jacket covering it up. )

You currently could CCW a SBR. Sling it and zip up you jacket. Or you could do the classic Uzi in the Briefcase(look of video of when Reagen was shot).

Some states may allow CCW of SBRs, but I'm sure many don't. South Carolina, for one, has a maximum length limit of 12" measured along the longest plane of the weapon.

So, while you could carry some sort of NFA weapon (Glock 18, suppressed pistol), it's still pretty much limited to being a handgun.

I thought Starbucks was doing a good job of staying out of the debate despite both sides trying to drag them in.

There's plenty of bumper sticker logic in the RKBA movement (check sig lines on this site). But calling it that doesn't mean it isn't true.

It's a good thing: It's logic that is so clear and concise that it can fit on a bumper sticker. As opposed to those twisted gordian knots of logic that are used by the other side(s) to support their unnatural beliefs.

Whether it's one sentence or 100 pages, those guys will tear it down piece by piece. Heck, we do it on message boards. Take your opponent's response, analyze it sentence by sentence and retort as such. If you're like me and not particulary adept at getting your point across it won't take long for a chat roo commando to tear your response to shreds...right or wrong. Those pesky Brady Bunchers are particularly adept at these tactics, tossing in a few lies and F.U.D. to boot. If you ever argued in a meeting, before a board or in a class...you know how hard it is to argue against someone who is willing to use lies and FUD.

I've heard some mention of SBR's. You better check local laws. I'm not allowed to conceal anything other than a handgun (strictly defined in the law) with my permit here. Open carry here is legal, but the law is vague at best. I've never gotten a hassle over a deer rifle thrown over my shoulder where appropriate, but I'm cautious about oc. I have a Concealed Handgun permit and I think that is my best option. I don't disagree with OC, but it just isn't something I want to do.

Guess we'll have to re-number it, huh?

The Starbucks controversy has received national media coverage, with stories on CBS Evening News, National Public Radio, the New York Times and the Colbert Report, as well as a series in the Doonesbury comic strip.

Well if Doonesbury did some writing on the issue it must be a big deal.
