What if a ban is passed and it states all those evil rifles are illegal, no grandfathering of previously made rifles?
Be careful about your faith in those votes. Comprimise is what brought the end to FA in the 80's and the 1st AWB. The media and anti gun lobby has been conspicuously quiet in wake of the recent tragedys and I am afraid an attack is imminent. The difference is: The next ban will NOT have an expiration date.
At this time, I'm not concerned about a ban. 65 dems in congress just signed a letter to AG Holder making sure he understands that he doesn't have the votes. I sent a thank you letter to Utah's lone dem for his signature. They would LOVE to start banning, but they know they don't have the votes.

You hate reading it less than I hated typing it.i hate reading that.
what are the odds of something that severe becoming a reality?
i think (hopefully) if we see another ban it will be similar, or a variant, to what we had with clinton, which honestly didnt really change anything for me.
i bought my first ar15, a colt 6700c match target rifle, during the clinton ban. i then walked about 25 feet to another table and bought some 30 round mags for it.
the biggest effect it had on my first ar was it didnt have a bayonet lug, and a pinned on compensator instead of a thread on flash hider. other than that it didnt really effect my ar purchase or activities in the least.
