YeeHah! Just talked to Linda of the ATF and she said I was approved today, and it should go in the mail Monday.

Still waiting for my first C&R rifle to arrive. This is more aggravating than waiting for the license! At least I didn’t have to worry about that going “astray.†

The UPS truck was out last Friday, so I was sure my rifle had arrived, but it was only some other gun-related stuff I had ordered … after the rifle, which is part of what bothers me, even more than this run-on sentence.

Two weeks later....here we are......
A form letter stating the forms are backordered
Why not just print extra forms rather than letters saying they don't have forms.....and then spend $.37 getting it to me.

Obiwan, they just aren't regular forms. They are pretty big sheets of paper, dual sided printing on odd colors. Be glad they sent you the letter, they could have just left you hanging for another two weeks.

Well, they cashed my check on the 28th.
I wait two more weeks and then I call.

I just go my license today. The atf cashed my check on 1/18/05. I also sent the original application to the wrong police agency. Fortunately, they sent the application back to me and told me which law enforcement agency to send it to. I haven't received the books or forms yet but hopefully they'll come soon.

It's here. I got it yesterday - 48 days since the day my application went out. Overall I'm satisfied. I guess it could have taken longer had I not contacted the licensing center.
Now I've got to start sending it out and saving some cash.

Got mine last Thursday. That's a total of 43 days. Not too bad for a government bureaucracy like the ATF.

Mailed mine in on March 5. As expected, the BATF quickly and efficiently cashed my check on March 9. Now it's just a matter of time. In a few weeks, if nothing, I will call and start a game of phone tag. In the meantime, I'm willing to let them do their thing while I start my wish list and get the $ saved.

Got my forms in the mail a couple days ago...but I'm going to be moving in about a month, so I'm going to wait with mailing them in until I can give them my new address.
On the plus side, this has prevented me from buying any C&R guns, since I know I can get them cheaper once I get the license. The ATF sitting on my app for a year would probably be a good thing for my wallet.

Do like I did, save 10 bucks a day for every day that you wate for your app to get processed and get you license back. You should have plenty of money by the time you get your license in.

Well, I got the big package in yesterday (Saturday, March 25th). I imagine I'll be getting the license itself in just a few days.
We need to put together a comprehensive list of who to mail our licenses to. The list on page 5 is nice, but it's not complete.
