So you believe a tshirt is going to make people violent? I have seen many anti hippy, anti liberal, and anti muslim remarks here yet you contribute here. So your ok with violence against those you dont care for but when it comes to you, you choose to get into an uproar.
Absolutely not. I think that you haven't yet gotten me. We've discussed a number of issues in the past, and have often found differing sides-- which is fine. But let me elaborate, if I may.
Do I think a T-shirt is going to
cause a person to take a course of action? Of course not-- or should I say that I should
hope not.
Have I seen Anti- [fill-in-the-blank] comments here? Sure. I've also seen a lot of the opposite as well.
Regardless of my personal feelings regarding any of those comments-- one way or the other-- they are out there. I contribute to this board because this is one of the more rational boards I have experienced. As of yet, I have failed to see anything that damns THR or its members to an unredeemable status with me.
I CHALLENGE YOU to show me where *I* have expressed that I am OK with violence against innocent people of a group that I may not like. Hell, I challenge you to explain to me what groups exactly that I "don't care for." I will qualify this by saying that a group CAN become one that I don't care for. But this is through an active effort, not something passive like being different from me. By active, I mean taking specifically taking actions that have aligned themselves in an opposing manner. And I apply this to individuals and/or action-oriented organizations-- not ethnic, religious, ect. groups.
Now here is where I think you missed the point of serveral posts I've made here:
Either EVERYTHING is OK, or NOTHING is OK.
Certain things are PC to say or think in our society and change the groups involved and it is a social/economical/professional act of suicide.
I would encourage you to read Larry Elder's
Ten Things That You Can't Say In America if you suspect that I am imaging this.
My contention is that we have NO business in the "Thought Police" business-- especially when the rules change with the circumstances. Consistency, my friend.
I pointed out to CafePress that they ALLOWED this communication to continue in defiance to their own TOS. I feel that if THAT particular TOS violation is allowed to continue, then NONE can be ethically enforced.
I think that perhaps your personal feelings on this particular issue-- or maybe regarding me-- have colored your view on this.
