I would like to hear from Californians that own machine guns. What did you go through to get the permit, how long was the wait, what year did you get it?

Also, the same would apply to someone with a Short Barrel Rifle permit. How much, how long, when did you get it? What hoops did you have to jump thought?

Some one please hive me some hope that it is possible!!!

Yeah but I think that 1919 was semi.

If there are any FA's someone has had it for a long time or is a manufacturer.

It's my understanding that you can only get this "permit" or whatever you want to call it directly from the State DOJ. The same DOJ that is actively going after AR receivers, even legal ones.

I wish you the best of luck.

Posted at one NFA dedicated website (Bardwell).

The state
Department of Justice has discretionary authority to issue permits
to possess DD's or machine guns, and does not issue them to
collector-civilians. Civilians are totally prohibited from owning
suppressors.

Your only hope is to move back to the United States.

It was probably a semi auto 1919, I'm gonna get me one o them next bonus methinks.

I think you have to be a dealer in class 3 weapons to even posess one. If I recall correctly, there is no provision for private citizenry owning MG's and the like.

Sorry man,

If you figure out a way to get em legally let me know, I would love to add one to my collection.

I have read that the laws are on the books and have seen the application on line at CADOJ web site. It requires a "good cause" statement (sounds familiar), I was just wondering if any civilian has actually be issued the permit?

I looked into this when I was living there (until late last year).

As I was repeatedly told, there are no privately owned machine guns by ordinary citizens in California. That's what I was repeatedly told by LEOs and the DOJ.

The only people who own machine guns in kalifornicate are the companies who supply props for the movies and police departments.

But I also remember reading in the news of two LEOs who had machine guns yet were arrested, because they did not have the guns in the line of duty.

That is not entirely true. I would bet there are some well off criminals in California who own them and I bet they ain't even Federally tax stamped. :uhoh:
