The Assembly is approving a ten round limit for NJ now. There are receptionists standing by at 609 292 6000 to take a message for the governor. I called and said I was opposed to A-2006, she told me thanks and the message will be passed to the governor.

Please help.

I rate the possibility of him signing the bill as zero.

However, phone calls are definately worthwhile.

That was easy enough.

1) 609 292 6000

2) "Governor's office"

3) "Hi, I just wanted to call to tell the Governor I was opposed to A-2006."

4) "Ok, thankyou"

Having recently escaped from the PRNJ, the likelihood of CC signing off on this bill is pretty low. Knowing his aspirations for national office, he must know that signing this bill would be the kiss-of-death. Will make the call, but will never vote for CC as POTUS.

If he still thinks he has a chance at the Republican nomination he'll veto the bill.
If he's figured out he's stuck in NJ he'll sign it and use it for reelection as Gov.

Note: You do not need to say "Governors office," thats what they say!
The lady who picked up was thoroughly confused xD

Figured I bought a lathe in Millville Wednesday night for $250 cheaper than new, I owed you guys one :)

I'm not going to enter the predicable Christie debate that will follow, other than to comment ab initio that I know the man, have been involved in New Jersey 2nd Amendment activism for decades, and will state categorically that you're dead wrong.

He will veto the bill no matter what.

A little more information on this:

If you can, please call, EMAIL, and WRITE a letter to the governor. They are counting. Here is the note my buddy sent me that is concise and informative:

Guys,

I just called the Governor's office. They actually do count the pro & con callers. They're not asking names or any ID information, just want to know the bill numbers (S993 and A2006) and if you are for or against.

Please do call his office: 609-292-6000. He is looking to a nationwide platform for the next presidential election, so please also call from out of state, they don't ask for any ID info anyway.

I'll now send an email (http://www.state.nj.us/governor/contact/) and write a letter (Governor Christie, P.O. Box 001, Trenton, NJ 08625) as well; feel free to do same, but please at least call!

Thank you!

Thanks to any and all that take the 5 minutes to do these things.

Good luck guys, twist the arm of your family members and friends.

Anyone else think it's a good idea to call from out of state?

I can't say I have near as experienced a reading on Christie as you, but that does sound encouraging for the folks in NJ.

However, don't take it personally if I call and voice opposition to it anyway. ;)

^^ I think calling is smart, and reinforces to his advisors that he's being watched from afar as well as from his own electorate. It's not a matter of knowing that we are here (they know that already), but guaging the magnitude of our interest. That's what I think they misunderstand.

In the 70's, when I was stationed there I really loved New Jersey. It was everything you could ask for and more, but as Steve McQueen said at the end of one of the best movies ever made, the 'Sand Pebbles'; "I was home,................ what the hell happened"
