So I have started doing Camoing on my guns and on Ammo cans and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for different patters or a place to buy patters or any other ideas for me. I will put pictures up of some of what I have done. Please keep in mind that I only started this a couple days ago and am just messing around so far :)

“Because my husband wanted something different on them.... Just figured we would do it to make them ours.”

That’s good enough for me.

Oh, by the why, they do look cool.

that looks amazing! lol is it permanete tho? i realy do not know a whole lot about camoing a gun exept i need my 12ga mossberg camoed out for duck season because it is very shiny does anyone know a good method or product to use?

Go into your back yard - pick up leaves, ferns, or whatever grows in your area. Prep your stocks, use the natural materials that are common for your area as well as the colors in your area and have fun....I have seen stocks painted using maple leaves, ferns, etc and they look great

It does not come off... They sell an Ultra flat camo pain at walmart and sports stores that have hunting stuff...

Looks great; nice camo jobs all around. I especially like the different patterns on the ammo cans.

I did a couple more today but am not too sure if i like them yet. Will post new pictures when I get them dry. Using panthose for most of the patterns. Works well. :)

Not bad. A little too much like a snake for me (hate snakes). The AR is really well done. I camoed my hipoint 995 and my son's Marlin 70. It's fun.

TexasGunbie-
It depends on which one. The 2 guns and the snake pattern ones are a mesh netting that go in a parachute. I just put it on top of the gun and spray painted it with a camo paint. The 1st, 4th and 5th picture are netting. The 2nd, 3rd and 6th are pantyhose and 7,8,9 and 10 are stencils.

shooterchick - the first 4 ammo cans look great and the workmanship on the rest is "top shelf". The items with that "mesh" pattern strikes me as being "too regular" or not random enough for nature. It seems as if the critters would pick up on it because of that repetition of size and shape (and as Doc Savage pointed out, looks like "snakeskin!).

Good stuff!

For even better effects, use the mesh but mark it off in a more digiital camo pattern.

Going to do one in hexes, soon as I have a gun worth it.

Good idea on using the ammo cans for experiments. :)

6-gunfun, go to Wal-Mart and get a can of non-chlorinated brake cleaner, masking tape and some Krylon camo paint. Degrease your shotgun with the brake cleaner, tape over what you don't want painted and hose the shotgun down with paint. For patterns, try mesh - I've had good results with that. Rug pads, shelf liners and laundry bags have been cheap sources.

Looks good to me, especially if that's what you like. Personally I can't bring myself to paint one of my guns. I'm mostly a coyote hunter and believe that camo is a big help when after them, especially when they are hunted hard like the ones in my area are. My solution is camo tape for my rifles. Use green before and after frost when I'm trying to be a mesquite bush and it's easily changed to desert camo after frost when I'm imitating tan grass and bare, black mesquite limbs.

Im still debating doing my 7mm-.08 but I dont know if i can bring myself to do that one. The .22 i was not to worried about but until I find a pattern I really like and get good at i think the 7.08 is gonna stay od green. im going to try to get an airbrush set and do some by hand but we will see.
