Can anyone ID this Ruger Mk? I got a pic off of some forum and can't remember where. It's stainless. The barrel appears to be slightly (1/8"?) longer than a standard 4-3/4" tapered Ruger barrel. Hard to tell for certain from a pic. Also appears to be very slightly heavier, but still a Luger like tapered profile. The front sight boss on the end of the barrel also appears slightly longer, so it can accommedate the longer, taller front blade that goes with the adjustable rear. It appears to have factory adjustable sights and factory checkered wood grips with a silver Ruger hawk on a black background on the grip medalian.

Is this some type of competition model? What is it's Ruger designation? KMKXXX?

Was it available as a Mk II or is it some newer Mk III only version?

Was it rare, or am I likely to be able to find a Mk II like this if I want?

That is a Ruger MKII Target Model with a 5 1/4 inch barrel. Ruger stopped making them in 1994. I have the same in blue and would dearly love to own the one you have pictured. They shoot great and are even better to carry as a woods or trail gun. They simply cannot be found in my area.

Thanks Bill,

If they quit making them in 1994, then it must be a Mk II.

Do you know the model designation of your blued gun? MK514? Other?

Sorry but I purchased mine used at a Gun show without a box and paperwork and don't know the #. I have saw only one other for sale on Gun Broker in the last 2 years. They are not rare but most seem to hang on to them .......and I know way! :)

I bought one for my son back some years ago. No way he would get rid of it. A very nice pistol. Wish now I'd got one for myself to go with my mark II Target.
