I guess I am late to the party, I discovered these at Buds last weekend and for the money I think they are fantastic.

I like the short reset trigger, the bold sights, weight and balance.

The big question before I buy, is the pistols this brand produces good quality?

Any personal experiences and round counts would be appreciated.

Magazine availability has been the only bemoaning factor. If you like Walther, you'll prolly like Canik.

I have a Canik 9mmSPX and so far it's been a very good pistol, took around a hundred rounds for break in. Came with 2 mags, extra back strap and a nice case and was around $ 550 OTD.

Have sfx, elite and v2. Never a problem and had the V2 several years and ran thousands thru it. Excellent quality pistols

The Turks have been making small arms when the first Americans were running around in animal skins building dirt mounds.

I have a lot of faith that any modern firearm designed and built in Turkey will be a good one.

I shot my friend's TP9 and liked it enough to buy myself a Mete SFX. Added a Holosun 407C x2 green optic. Extremely accurate for me out to 25 yards so far. I was considering removing the optic as I was shooting better with the irons but held off and became comfortable with it. Reliable with 115 and 124 gr Norma and Blazer FMJ. 8a-Canik Holosun.jpg

I've been a Walther and cz fan for a long time, both of those are excellent quality. I discovered Caniks several years ago, and have 8 now, with thousands of rounds them without issue. They look (upon internal inspection) and feel and operate as good of quality as Walther or Cz. They were originally referred to me by a competitive shooter friend who was on the Sig shooting team...

Magazines are getting available again. I have a regular Tp9sfx, a Whiteout Sfx, and bought a Rival Sfx. The Rival is the best so far. I too yearn for a .40 cal Sfx version. Apparently years ago they had some imported but never seen one

Ive owned HKs, Walthers and Caniks. The Caniks are now my go to guns because of the slide cuts and triggers. Any of the last 3 models of Caniks have better triggers than even a Q5; the PDP is close. The Rival is the best striker gun on the market for slide cuts, trigger, recoil reduction and value. Nothing even comes close except the PDP full sized.
