I carry all the time. And since it's easier to just keep on carrying when I get home, I carry there too. That way I'm not always securing and retrieving my pistol when I'm coming and going. Besides, I know of too many home invasions and hot burglaries in my area, so I don't assume I'm safe once I get home. My chocolate lab is great about barking if someone is on our property, but once she's alerted me, she's a big coward and depends on me to take care of any BGs.

I live in Illinois so I dont carry. I have no CCW permits as I visit other states very infrequently. I travel out of state maybe once every year or so. The last time I did was just for a few hours to go drink with a friend in Missouri.

If Illinois had CCW I would be packing all the time I was able.

i dont have mine yet, but when i get it, i dont plan on carrying much...for one, where i work, no fire arms are allowed, but also, i really have no reason to...the only times i will carry is when camping, which when camping with my friends, we have a dozen or so rifles and pistols anyways with us, so i dare any one to try to screw with our campsite...lol..and the other time is when i go wheeling....some places fairly close where i go wheeling have had multiple thefts while people are camping...one guy a friend of mine knows even had his newly restored jeep stolen there...so, i would like to have a fun with me there...

so really the CCW is just going to be for when i need it

oh yea, also, ive had 2 of my jeeps broken into, and had over 2 grand of stereo equipment and CDs stolen from each one, and i wouldnt mind catching some one taking from my jeep while i have a gun on me:D

Strength in numbers!!!!:)

But otherwise, I can't comment on this, because I can not relate to this. :banghead: I don't get to pick the day or the time or the place when something bad happens! It could be in the grocery store parking lot, while I'm stopped at a traffic light, when I go out to my car parked in my own driveway, while I'm walking down the sidewalk, or in the affluent neighbornood (yes, bad things happen there too), at McDonald's while I stand in line. I don't get to pick that day when I'm feeling healthy, or tired, or sick. The bad guy will chose that time for me! I'll be prepared when he/she chooses that day for me!

I too work at a University and cannot carry here. But the Campus PD wanted me to become a Constable to work the football games and arrest rowdy drunks, thus they said I could carry at work if I wanted to. But I'm usually crawling around on the floor under equipment cabinets and under desks working on A/V equipment. Wouldn't work too good with a side arm. Hell, a cell phone is sometimes in my way, besides, I'd have to arrest all my friends at the game!

In the evenings when we go out, it is either to a church for a Boy Scout meeting (cannot carry at churchs) or out to dinner with the wife and or neighbors where adult beverages are consumed in mass quantity. Another no-no with CWP in SC. (usually the consumption is right in my neighborhood at the country club, 5 houses down from mine)

I carry everywhere that is legally permissible. Since having my cpl, the only time I leave the weapon home is when I pick up the grandkids at school. If I have to run errands and am required to enter a no guns allowed area, the weapon stays locked in the truck.

Daily carry

Personally, I carry a Beretta 96D everyday, everywhere I go. Unless of course I have to go into a government building with a metal detector.

Every person with a CCW whether they carry or not, adds one more to the numbers that politicians look at when they decide what way to vote on the gun control issues. The more of there are, the more popular we are with politicians. Keep in mind, the majority of politicians are too scared to say what they actually believe, they simply say what the numbers tell them is the most likely to get them re-elected.
