Carry in the Summer?

I wear shorts, a white T, and a printed button up shirt. Usually a leather IWB holster with a polymer pistol for the sweaty weather carry.

I have no trouble with cargo shorts or khakis and untucked tee, golf, or casual shirts. IWB Clinger/comfort pad and Kore Belt.

You might just as well Open Carry

I agree.

Ya think so? Add a little rubber hose to it and it looks like a medical device case......

Any pouch or fanny pack large enough to hold a gun is assumed to be holding a gun.
Untucked shirt doesn't get a 2nd look; "sneaky pete" pouch or fanny pack screams gun, especially on a adult male in regular clothes (not a bathing suit).

You do what you wanna do, I'll do what I wanna do.

LCP Max in Desantis pocket holster. Disappears in most shorts. I also use a NAA .22lr around house and dog walks.

Gun guys are the only people that really see shoot me first vests or a fanny pack as the signs of carrying a gun. And I bet that the vast majority of those that wear either never carry a gun. Back when I wore those years ago I did carry.

Most folks are so self-absorbed that they don't pay attention to "alternative" carry...a very wise man once reminded me that you could burst into flames in front of 99% of the citizenry and they would keep yakking away and never even notice. Heck, nearly everyone under 50 has their face buried in a smart phone during waking hours.

NO ONE except those of us who post here think any sort of waist pack screams gun.....and probably less than half of current LEO's would think twice. I say.... use what works for you.

I agree that the average man on the street probably doesn't look at a fanny pack and think gun. Then again, I'm not all that worried about that guy. The vast majority of the citizenry also wouldn't consider bashing me over the head and taking my concealed handgun.

I'm more worried about someone who is looking for a free gun and has taken maybe 2 minutes to "research" different carry methods.

A quick internet search on pistol handgun carry methods will list the common types and provide pictures.

No doubt that's a valid point. I'm probably counting on a perp being more interested in Tick Toc rather than doing his/her "homework".

Just like I always carry, a smaller pistol in my pocket. Will be a LCPII Lite Rack this year since it looks like I got a good one this time.

But how many would look at a fanny pack and think "There's the guy's car keys, wallet and credit cards and all I've got to do is snatch it off his waist." ?

This is like a flashing beacon to my eyes: (Can't imagine rolling with that in a NPE, like work)

My wife sometimes wears a fanny pack when walking to the beach; its Desantis made for a gun and there is a Kahr P9 in it.
Neighbor we are friends with was walking her dog, wearing a fanny pack and I asked, "Are you carrying"? She said no, she has a Glock 43 but since we are in a "good area" o_O she was not carrying.
Of course I would never ask a stranger if they were carrying in a fanny pack, I just assume they are. ;)

But you could use the same argument against a woman carrying a purse. Come to think of it maybe they shouldn't for the very same argument you make. I dunno. But your reasoning is very sound....."so goes the waist pack...so goes the handgun". I guess we can both agree...anyone who walks into a feed store with a waist pack on is going to be "made".
