carrying, during a wedding?

Is it wrong to say that to me, this shouldnt be an issue at a wedding? If legal, do what you want, do what you feel comfortable with, but dont use it to make a statement? At least for me, weddings arent about pushing other issues on friends and family that are there for you, to celebrate with you. Symbolically a time to come together, not drive a wedge or make a point?

update!
wow, i never expected this much response! you guys are nuts! some of the ideas!!! im not going to coat my kimber in white lol! well we are down to 8 days and counting and the tux fitting is tomorrow i bought all the groomsmen blackhawk kydex retention holsters and blackhawk operater blets for the ocation.

we also developed some rules

1. NO GLOCKS ALOWED!
2. ANYONE CARRYING MAY NOT DRINK
3. NO GLOCKS
4. ANYONE CAN CARRY
5. GUNS MUST BE CONCELED DURING VOIWS EXP. FATHER OF THE BRIDE
6. AFTER THE WALK OUT YOU MAY AGAIN OPENLY CARRY
7. NO GLOCKS!

My last wedding, I had to borrow a sidearm from a guest when I went to get my car. Like many downtown districts, the area goes from decent to seedy in just a block or so- and I was carrying several hundred dollars in cash, and wearing a tuxedo.

If I ever have another wedding...what am I saying?

I was the best man at my buddy's wedding a couple months ago. I had a SW snubby in an ankle holster. I had to kneel at the altar at one point for an extended period of time (catholic wedding). Luckily no one spotted it. I was quite concerned someone would (it was a full house). I would have used a pocket holster had I known any better. :D

Really?! WTH! I understand all except #5. Why concealed during the vows?

BTW, I'm an ordained kind of fellow because I do marriages for a limited population, and I am concerned that I may be missing some important social requirement...

I carried at my (uh, then) sister in law's wedding. My (uh, then) wife was a bridesmaid, and our daughter was two at the time - so I had to tend to her (which is fine by me, she's always been a daddy's girl).

I carried the same rode hard and put away wet Kimber I always carried.

Anyway, they had this great idea to let my daughter be the flowergirl... I really didnt look out of place, I was dressed like most of the other men attending, with the exception of the preacher in his Sunday best, groom and groomsmen, in tuxedos, of course.

But imagine, if you will, a guy with long hair, wearing a nice, although untucked shirt, blue jeans and cowboy boots, chasing a two year old around the alter... Needless to say, at one moment, I stuck out like a sore thumb.

Looking back, I'm surprised someone didnt call the police...

I open carried my Jericho 941 on my hip in a yaqui style holster at my wedding. Best man had a Beretta 92 INOX carried in the same fashion, Groomsmen had an EAA witness.

Bride and Maid of Honor had a S&W 637 and NAA "Earl"mini revolver respectively carried 'concealed'.
