Today is the 150th day since Cavalry Arms was raided by agents of the BATFE and the civilian asset forfeiture contractors. When the agents left, they took more than $500,000 in guns with them along with the company’s computers and files. A month and a half later, the BATFE filed for civil forfeiture of all the “evidence” they had seized. No charges have ever been filed, no one at Cavalry Arms has been accused of any wrongdoing. Incredibly, Cavalry Arms is still in business due in part to the widespread support they have received from gun owners across the country but also because of the determination and tenacity of it‘s owner. As in any emergency, large numbers of people are willing to help out initially, but there always comes a point where the initial groundswell of support begins to ebb and people start to forget.

I image Cavalry Arms needs a new surge of support right now. You don’t have to be able to afford an AR15 to help. They sell shotgun accessories, AR15 furniture and sights, optic mounts, soft cases and medical kits.

If they don’t have something you need, you can always donate to their defense fund. Fighting the civil forfeiture is expensive and good legal help doesn’t come cheap.

Whoah! Wait, what happened!?
I was on this forum a hundred and fifty days ago, and I definitely don't remember anything about CA getting raided by the ATF.
Why did those goons decide to raid CA? That doesn't make any sense (of course, neither did Ruby Ridge...)
:fire:

I REMEMBER (150 already?).... It kinda sucks they do stuff like that.

I am sure the BATFE has other bigger people to pick on.

Like moonshiners and Branch Davidians !!!

Lol. (humor please)

In brief, there was a paperwork issue involving their licensed address, and the actual address where some of their polymer parts get molded. They had gotten written approval from the local head of the BATFE, but apparently that wasn't good enough for the bright boys in Washington. As I recall, those bright boys took all their current inventory of firearms, firearms receivers, and even visited the owner's home and confiscated his own personal firearms.

All the seized property was listed in forfeiture proceedings, and the BATFE was planning on keeping the whole lot. From what I understand, Cav Arms attorneys have advised them to keep all the legal wrangling private, and not discuss it openly - so you won't hear any of the nitty-gritty of it until the whole thing's settled.

Cav-Arms are the good guys - I'm proud to be able to support them in their effort, even though it's only been to the tune of a few bucks.

I purchased two lowers, and am getting some furniture to match. Everyone who picks th elowers up has loved them so far.

It's hard to believe this was that long ago. Any news as to whether they get the stuff back that was listed in the forfeiture notice (where they had to file for everything within X days or it's gone)?

Thanks auschip, I am going to be picking up a lower most likely in September, and if they have good reviews I will gladly help them. Reminds me of the Steve Jackson Games raid, that helped spawn a lot of the internet freedom groups.

I did my part... Just got 'em from the gunshop the other day.

Me thinks BATFE should have a civil lawsuit against them for seizure of private property. After all they seize then try to make it legal.

I want a set of pink or purple AR-15 furniture/collapsible stock. Do they have that stuff back in stock?

EDIT= nevermind. Called 480-833-9685 and they had them in-stock, but not listed on the website. FYI, $150 for complete pink stock set, delivered :p

The wife is gonna get a nice x-mas surprise :)

remember, if you really want to help, $20 to the defense fund is going to give you the most 'bang for your buck'

It is great that all these companies are sending all the proceeds to cav-aid, but really, you spend $20 on a t-shirt, cav-aid fund probably only increases by $5

If this is true, WHY is the NRA sitting this out?

They should be involved from what I remember about this case. (I am NO expert on this case. My 'disclaimer' to the board.)
