Has anyone got any experience with their (CCI- Blazer Brass) ammo? I found a good deal on 45 ACP's,for $9.00 a box. 230 FMJ. I beleive they are reloadable brass case with boxer primer. Are these all right or are they Chit?

Blazer Brass

I have not tried Blazer Brass in .45 ACP...I don't own a 1911, yet, BUT I have tried the 9mm version and I love it! I have fired several boxes through my CZ 75 and S&W 910 with no hiccups. It also seems a tad hotter than the aluminum stuff.

Great, Thanks hansolo. That's one positive feedback, I hope I do not get a negative.

I found it for the first time today too, in .45ACP, so I picked up a box. We can compare notes. :)

? on the Brass Blazer....

Are the brass cases boxer or berdan primed?

Feel a little foolish, but I really don't know.

I recently switched to Blazer Brass as my range/plinking ammo since my local range no longer allows aluminuim cased ammo.I bought a couple cases of 9mm from [www.ammoman.com].I have gone through one and a half cases(1500rnds)and have had no troubles with them and could not be happier with them.

I have fired over 1,000 rounds of
CCI Blazer centerfire cartridges through both my
revolvers and semiauto pistols. Never had
any problems; the ammo always goes bang.
The Blazer ammo is no less or more accurate
than other factory ammo, such as white box
Winchester, American Eagle, PMC, or S&B.
After shooting, I find my guns are easier
to clean, too.

My Walther P99 really likes aluminum Blazer 9mm, it and Winchester White Box are the two most accurate.

The new Blazer brass case stuff came to my area two weeks ago and I bought a box to try. The Walther said "don't try this stuff again", my groups spread out somethin' awful!

nvrquit, so far CCI has only announced/shipped 9mm, .40S&W & .45 acp.

No word on any other calibers yet.

What I find strange is that there has been no release of any revolver rounds in the Blazer Brass line as of yet. And that all of the Blazer brass is FMJ loaded.

I think I'll have to disect some Blazer Brass and some standard Speer and compare them to see if there's any internal difference.

OK, this is sorta wierd. I put 50 rounds of CCI Blazer .45ACP through my SW1911 yesterday, practicing for the THR Virtual Shooting Match. 50 rounds behaved just fine, but when I picked up the brass, it looked "burned" on one side of the casing, and it was slightly flattened out on the burned side, right up at the lip of the case.

I haven't seen that before, and have no idea what caused it. I think next time I will mark a cartridge with a permanent marker and find out what orientation these marks are.

I've put 2 cases through my 9, and a case and a half through my 45. Not a glitch. And as said early, clean. :D
